Had a lazy weekend to catch up on movies.

Magic Mike XXL
Mad Max Fury Road
Aloha
Pitch Perfect 2
The Longest Ride
Southpaw
Entourage

I enjoyed 4 of them.

The Inevitable Defeat of Mister and Pete
Teacher

Saw Ant-Man this afternoon with the tinlids.
It pretty much directly follows the events of Avengers: Age of Ultron, more so by reference than a direct continuation of the story.

I think Ant-Man got a lukewarm response from critics and fanboys, but I really enjoyed it. Some really clever ideas worked into the "feel-goodness".
Most of the Marvel movies I've seen have pleasantly surprised me. Whilst most have a fairly predictable formula, it's interesting to see how they've used certain characters and certain events.

I liked the "no-longer-wears-the-suit" way they used Hank Pym in this one.

Any Marvel fans seen it??

^Probably the least impressive of the lot, lost it's way a couple of times. Not terrible though, still enjoyable enough.

Side note - Quicksilver wasn't as awesome as he was in X-Men: DoFP.

What did you think of Fury Road Mandy? It just won some film award but I thought it was pretty average.
Can't have done too well at the box office, Coles are selling the dvd for $20 😕

I haven't seen it, Ant Man was a fringe comic character no where near as cool as the Atom. I might download a copy when I get around to it.

It was ok. A solid ok. Wasn't great but pretty watchable.

I read about that award too and was quite surprised.

The Martian, 4.5 out of 5. Good cast, Matt Damon was very good. Film includes a bit of self depreciating humour and a disco soundtrack.

Spy with Melissa McCarthy, Jude Law, Rose Byrne. 3 out of 5. The humour in the film may not be everyone's cup of tea, but the Beanie family had a good laugh. Switch the brain off and go along for the ride.

I watched The Holiday with Kane Winslet, Cameron Diaz, and Jack Black. It was recommended to me by Belinda the other day and today I bought it from Cash Converters. Not a bad movie, added to my romantic comedy collection it's growing rather large now.

I also watched San Andreas yesterday I really liked it.

Over the weekend I watched all the Madagascars, Shrek, Robots, Monsters vs Aliens, it was a nice little animation weekend. I hadn't been sleeping well so I have been watching movies to help. Been good.
