IF YOU have ever thought your name sounded bad, spare a thought for this guy.
Phuc Dat Bich (yes, that is his real name) was tired of being accused of having a false and misleading name, so he took matters in to his own hands.
After having his Facebook account shut down three times, the 23-year-old Vietnamese-Australian posted a picture of his passport to the site to prove it was real.
I find it highly irritating the fact that nobody seems to believe me when I say that my full legal name is how you see it, he wrote. Ive been accused of using a false and misleading name of which I find very offensive. Is it because Im Asian? Is it?
Having my fb [sic] shut down multiple times and forced to change my name to my real name, so just to put it out there. My name. Yours Sincerely, Phuc Dat Bich.
His post has received more than 21,000 likes and was shared 65,000 times, with many calling for Phuc Dat Bich (pronounced Phoop Dook Bic) to embrace how it sounds in Stralyn.
Phuc Dat is a common name in Vietnam, while Bich (Beht) is usually a first name for girls.
His post has elicited both sympathy and mirth in unequal doses, with one on Twitter pledging to name their children after him.
Facebook friends have questioned the safety of publicly sharing his passport details on social media, while others wondered about the likelihood of identity theft.
Who the HELL would want to steal THAT identity!!!, wrote one.
The 23-year-old says on his Facebook that he works at NAB as a cleaner and is a member of many Subaru clubs around Victoria. |

It's either laugh, cry or smack my head against the wall, so I choose to laugh at the utter lack of logical problem solving skills of so many allegedly intelligent and educated people.
FMD, I can see why Apple stuff is so popular, it's damn near idiot proof whereas so many people, when things don't work exactly how they expect first time, seem to respond by panicking and calling for help instead of stopping for a second and trying to think through the issue.
I wonder who dresses them and drops them at work sometimes.
The really funny part is the reaction I often get when I explain why they're an idiot.

Why look for yourself when you can ring someone else at 11pm - who's not on bloody on call 
Shouldn't answer it - but then I worry that it is ACTUALLY something clinically urgent - never is 
I reckon mum still squeezes the toothpaste on the brush for some of em!!

Yep.
Some of these people have children of their own and are in management positions. Grodd help us.
I put some FAQ'a up on one particular site to help, but why read them when you can call someone?
These are the FAQ's I should have written

I get that too, and I really wish hubby would get an apple instead of a Samsung, cos I really can't be $%$ed reading a manual or wasting hours googling for something I personally have no use for. Oh and FYI the Samsung waterproof maybe waterproof but it also is soundproof if you connect the Bluetooth just once! Apparently it thinks something is jammed in its headphone jack ALL THE TIME. Which is why all those tradies on the phone have such loud conversations. They don't fix it, they just use loud speaker.
I love my iPhone. I love my iPad. Apples keep the insanity doctor away too.

Well, that could have been worse. I was envisaging something aimed at routine daily hygiene, rather like colonic irrigation for the antrums. A strictly medical purpose leaves me slightly - only slightly - relieved.

Singapore is one of the nearest places to utopia on earth. And like any conceivable utopia, it's clean, modern, safe and a little bland. Wonderful to visit, but if you told me I had to live here forever I'd be wistfully sad. You could not be devastated, just having the feeling there is more to life. Still, for a week or two, it's just fab. Highly recommended.

If you have time, check out the Singapore zoo at night. Well worth the visit.

Have been to the night zoo a few times, Lazza. Agreed, it's fabulous. The Singapore zoo, like Melbourne, is probably a model of what a good zoo should be.

Singpore is a bit too clean for me but I liked each of the few times I'ver been there in the last few years. For me, the tourist highlights included the two major botanical gardens & the orchid garden - breath-taking & stunning.
The Muslim area - for the sights, smells (at times) & food.
& aspects of China Town - although much too touristed these days.
I avoided the zoo (sorry Lazza) after reading a hilarious & sad entry on Trip Advisor last year by a guy from the UK about how tourists were simply ignoring the guides request not to take photo's, not to disturb the animals which they kept on doing during thus guy's entire trip with his wife to the said zoo.
Maxwell's food / hawker market has some great food. In Chinatown we found some great small places to eat. Prawn in Tofu hot pot & Pork hotpots were especially yummy. Of course it's hard to go past a good ol' chicken rice - the Chinese staple in Malaysia & Singapore.
I hadn't been bold enough to try Fish Head Soup, also a national / regional tour de force / tour de fare
