Full credit to Bullants they used the breeze better than us, and defended against it better than us.

We were far to wasteful in the second qtr, i cant remember all the shots, but know rocca missed a couple out on the full. Dick did the same, also Cox missed one he should've kicked, same with Dawes. We should've been 3-4 goals up at half time and it would've been a different game.

For me the best for the pies was Reid. He put in a solid 4 qtr game. Stanners although didn't see much of him early (inj?) played his heart out in the third, same with blair and even thoolen did ok in the ruck against the old freo ruckman (warnock i think).

Rocca got through ok, was rested for long periods which was to be expected. McCarthy i didn't see what happened but he looked sore after the game (nothing serious i hope). Dawes put his hand up to be an option up forward this week, but im not sure he is the answer just yet... his work rate was up today but he still makes simple mistakes.

Pev and Pendlebury were also very good of the non AFL players.

Great to hear Reid did well. I am a big fan of his and probably next year will mature enough to hold down a key position in defence, hopefully will be Presti's successor in a year or two.

It was Blair's first game for about a month, he did some nice things but will be better for the run.

Really impressed with Lachie Keefe being played permanently at full-back. I like him better there than in the ruck. He is surprisingly quick off the mark and did well playing on the Bullants tall forwards.

Yeah, Reid did very well today, along with Wellingham and Dawes they were our standouts.

I question strongly Gavin Brown's idea to rest Wellingham at the start of the last quarter, and flood the backline, when we had a 5 goal wind and a 4 goal deficit.

Was good to see Rocca and McCarthy close up today, McCarthy is so exciting, just hope he pulls up well after the hit he took in the 3rd.

If i were MM, I'd bring Wellingham and Dawes in for Goldsack and Barham next week. Think Wellingham is developing into a gun midfielder.
