Firstly gotta say (like Monty Burns) I come in peace, I come in peeecce (glow, dilate pupils)...

I run "TheBlueView" - pub96.ezboard.com/btheblueview - which is an unofficial CarltonFC forum site. At the moment the amount of traffic we are getting is making it prohibitive cost-wise to maintain things status quo, upwards of 10,000 fresh hits per day.

Basically I think I need to start looking for a new host site and seeing as though NicksBB is the oldest site around I thought it might be a good place to start to get advice.

If the administrator or moderator in here could possibly contact me I have some questions, I would be extremely grateful for any help at all. Obviously club rivalry is out the window at this point in time

Enjoy the finals you b@stards!

I've looked in at the Blue View over the last couple of months and have found them to be a fairly respectable group of people.
A big shock!!!
The anti-Jack feeling running through the site is awesome.

We've been running on our own servers for some time GoBaggers. Our monthly upload into the net went through 10gb some years ago and now, in busy months, approaches 20gb so we had to find a solution that avoided data transfer limits. Costs a lot of money and keeps me poor, but we have total control over the site.

Those data figures are for the site as a whole not just the Bulletin Board because we run and maintain the whole kit and kaboodle - we don't use a messageboard service.

I could offer to host you on our servers, but I can't think of anything worse than being responsible for the reliable performance of a Carlton site - couldn't happen.

I can't make any recommendations as far as your forum goes because, as I said, we don't, and never have, used a service like Ezboard. From the Outer is very busy and uses Ezboard, have you asked them?

Feel free to email me on mike@magpies.net if you have any specific questions.

Well, the Blue View is already on Ezyboard so I'm a little confused.
Is it the half yearly subscribtion to stop pop-ups that you are in trouble with?
If so, just ask your regulars to anti up with maybe $10 US ($20 AU pesos). This worked for HawksHeadquarters and they are now in positive balance with EzyBoard. I myself put in $20 as it doesn't hurt and I get a bit of enjoyment there.
Surely the "BlueBloods" can find a measly $20 each? One or two less chardonny's at the club function would do it!
