Maguire of StKilda (Sandy) on Dawes
Nathan Brown on Sautner (usually a top VFL goalkicker) for Sandy they're saying Brown has had the better of Sautner so far today.

Cook goals

Collingwood 25 pts up

Coll: 14.8.92
San: 10.7.67

Good result in the end.

Seems out of that game, only 4 players will come into contention.

Clarke: Did enough to gain a recall if they can find a spot for him, probably had over 20 possies

Reid: Once again very good off half back, used the ball well apparently, and stopped his opponent.

N.Brown: Beat Sautner, the VFL leading goal scorer, good game.

Dawes: Brilliant in 1st half on Mcguire, and set up 2 of the 3 last quarter goals. Could replace L.Brown or Anthony, as he played in the ruck for periods today.

We needed that win, goes a long way to securing a much needed finals spot so when our seniors are playing finals so are our reserves.

Went there for my first VFL game this year:
Thought we played really well but the wind was blowing very strongly to the end we kicked to in the second and last quarter and we always going to win being a goal in front at the last change.
Lots to like about some performance. A very even team effort:

Barham: never gives in, lacks polish as we know with his disposal but was good across the whole game.
Clarke: lots of dash and attacking runs. Ready to go up if required.
Reid: very impressed. Solid, good spoils, quick and despite what one poster said his disposal was good. Getting better all the time.
Sidebottom: good game, plenty of class, no doubts he's going to be good.
Blight: some classy stuff.
Dawes: a very good game, presented consistently well, was roaming the forward line and was instrumental in many goals. Getting close to be ready for a regular game. A very smart footballer.
Cook: okay.
Wood: serviceable, got better as game went on but still not intense enough. He'll arrive when he believes he is good enough.
Keefe: obviously still learning.
Brown: very solid, took some excellent overhead marks. A class above this level now.
Bryan: tried his guts out. Always an option and moved well. But gotta bagging 5 goals consistently to get a game you'd think.

I think we play Casey next week, then have a bye.

We've gotten up to 5th on the ladder, and we're equal with Casey... so whoever wins next week will be outright 4th!

And it will be at the same ground we played at today.

Pretty sure it was reported on Triple M that Clarke is going back to Ireland in the next couple of weeks for his sister's wedding (with the permission of the club). I wouldn't expect him to come back into the side before he goes.
