I was very dissapointed when i heard the result!

I like to see the VFL team win, and i want them to make the finals!

They had a chance at top four a couple weeks back. I know some people will say that the VFL team is not about winning the VFL flag, but giving us the opportunity to 'train' and learn more about our younger AFL listed players. But playing in VFL finals can only be good for our youngsters!

It's interesting that a few players didnt play. Obviously a big contribution to the big loss. Rocca, Sidebottom and VFL regulars Keefe, Rounds and Macaffer didnt play. Wouldnt have gotten done by so much if they were out there.

Like i said i am dissapointed with this result and hope to get back out there for a win next week!!

Will Clarke be back next week? Is Ben Johnson close to getting named in the AFL side soon?? And where does Barham stand?

Post subject: How each player went in the VFLReply with quote

AFL-listed players and comments by VFL head coach Gavin Brown

14. Anthony Corrie (9k, 1h, 3m, 1t): Didn’t have a massive impact on the game. Played on the wing.

18. Marty Clarke (9k, 7h, 2m, 4t): Wasn’t too bad. Solid across back. Used the ball well.

19. Cameron Wood (9k, 7h, 4m, 5t): In the ruck and was good in the centre bounces. Gave us first hands on the ball.

20. Ben Reid (14k, 4h, 6m, 1t): Didn’t get beaten by his man down back.

26. Ben Johnson (13k, 7h, 3m, 5t): Got through the game in the midfield and on the wing. Pulled up well.

27. Jarrad Blight (11k, 7h, 1m, 6t): Solid offensively. Used the ball well.

28. Daniel Stanley (8k, 13h, 3m, 5t): Worked hard all day. Didn’t have a dominating game but was serviceable.

29. Ryan Cook (16k, 13h, 7m, 5t): Had a lot of the footy and worked pretty hard.

38. Scott Reed (6k, 7h, 2m, 5t): Wasn’t his greatest game. Got caught out a few times.

40. Chris Bryan (5k, 6h, 1m, 1t): Had to take on two opponents and a very frustrating day.

41. Kevin Dyas (9k, 9h, 4m): Similar to Marty. Kicked out from full back and his run was good.

43. Jaxson Barham (6k, 12h, 2m, 1g, 1t): His pressure was good. Didn’t have a major influence on the game.

45. Toby Thoolen (1k, 7h, 1m, 1t): Actually controlled his man.

46. Tristan Francis (11k, 6h, 3m, 3t): Played on Goodes and controlled him.

47. Jarryd Blair (9k, 12h, 6m, 1g, 9t): A bit quieter than normally. Didn’t have the impact he normally has.

48. John Bennell (1h): Only lasted a few minutes and went down with a collarbone.

Any changes apart from Leon and Possible Pendles???

21 possessions 1 goal and 9 tackles. When the coach says you were a bit quieter than normal you know you are in good nick.

Still think there's a chance we'll bring in another onballer type for some extra run. Don't think Pendles will play.

Some possibles: Clarke, Barham, Johnson (if not this week, looks a likely inclusion over the next two, especially with Clarke being dropped. Seemed to do okay against the Bullants), maybe Cook.

I reckon Clarke will come back in, the more I think about it. Let's face it, he's basically been given a little toe up the behind so you'd imagine he'd be as hungry as hell to keep his spot if given the opportunity this Friday night. Might be masterstroke if this is the plan

....

Umpires: A bloody disgrace. Choked any flow from the game, allowed the Poosters to jump on the ball and drag it in in our forward fifty without penalty and gifted the Poorats at least half their goals. The first 15 minutes were all Collingwood but a run of some 8-9 free kicks against us left our boys like they had just copped a huge kick in nuts and from then on there was no contest.

Eureka Stadium: Hell on earth. Lets just play down in Antarctica next time.

Result doesn't mean a thing, I am glad none of our lads got injured.
