What MM needs to do is get the troops to Adelaide a day earlier than usual for an interstate game, select a nice church, then pray like crazy for a form reversal. In particular, that:

Buckley is 100% by game day
Rocca can have some influence
Tarrant is there to play and not to spectate
L Davis does more than a couple of "flashy" things
Fraser steps up

Come on Pies. There have been too many players down in recent weeks. Its finals time. Lift your intensity or you will be dead meat for the opposition.

CARN THE PIES

Official Collingwood Strategy For The Port Game by Michael Malthouse

Belt the shiezen out of:
Dew, Francou, Burgoyne x2, Stevens, Hardwick, James & Galah-Collins

Knock the head off:
Carr & Cornes x2 (stomp on them if the corpses move after decapitation)

FFS:
Start the Prestinator on Tredre
Start O'Bree, Molloy & Didak
Tell Leon to crumb, if he jumps he's off, even during the warmups
Tell Rocca that Primus wants to sleep with his Mom and that French wants to watch.
Tell Fraser that he will lose his column on the AFL site if he doesn't kick 4 goals and get 10 marks.
Tell the midfield to hit Tarrant on the chest or they will get a modelling contract like Brodie with Roland Rocachelli instead of a chick.
Tell Tarrant to pull funny faces, just to p%ss off the commentators who will wonder "WTF is he doing?" (Never seen anyones face studied as hard as his and richos, like have these media guys ever played poker!!??)
Tell Tarks to keep the F away from the little square at the defensive end goals after a point.

Tell Lica nothing

Make sure McLaren thinks he's umpiring at AAMI Stadium, Woomera.

Hard at it. The Collingwood way.

I think we should man up and make them earn every kick. Otherwise they will run rampant.

LOVE your strategy Cam! LOL!

Simply put we need to play tight, tough, running football - something we did earlier in the season but seemed to have forgotten about in recent weeks!

GO PIES!

Reverse their attitude from yesterday....shut down the Port forward pocket and get some positive thinking back into the team.
They SHOULD then win and win big

Play man on man accountable football and hit the bastards hard. Thats why the Kangaroos have a brilliant record against Port.

Pretty simple really....

You ain't gotta like me, you just mad, 'cause I tell it how it is, and you tell it how it might be

Run, hit targets, harrass opponents, tackle, back up...

Everything that has not happened for the last 6 weeks.

120 minutes of intense, no bull football.
Don't give an inch.
No mental lapses.
Concentration and application.
Should we still not be good enough, then make it the most memorable game of the year - so that our hearts will swell with pride for our gallant warriors.
That's what it's all about right?
Otherwise you might as well plant veggies, read-a-book, or go fishing.

port, like brisbane, are one of the better run and gun sides in the AFL. in a straight shoot out, c'wood will not be able to match them, or at least last the game out. the pies must slow them down, and stifle their midfield and running brigade, like montgomery and james. port are deadly at stoppages, particularly with the likes of primus and francou - that's how they stung brisbane. c'wood must put the clamps on them. all year, the pies have been generating run from the half back line, with a loose man in defence, either cloke, or mckee playing a few metres behind the play. should this tactic be used again (and I don't see why not), the pies can use the extra man to fill the hole where the likes of treadrea can lead into. treadrea is a good mark and is very quick for his size, but he's a crap kick. if the pies can limit his presence to beyond the 50, there's a minor victory already.

we have to contain the burgoyne brothers, who are pacy and skillful. obviously, clement should get a look in. most importantly, c'wood needs a general out there to provide leadership. hopefully bucks will be right for this game.

"..we flew at them as a hawk to his prey, passed through them in the disordered state in which they were, separated them into two distinct parts and then tacked upon their largest division.." -- Captain Cuthbert Collingwood, 1797

Excerpts from the Official Collingwood Strategy For The Port Game by Michael Malthouse continued

FFFS:
Tell Graham Cornes to do a lap of honour before the game.
Tell Stephen Rowe of 5AA to join him.
Tell Nick Davis that Leon REALLY IS his brother.
Tell Bucks that Eddie has been seen coming out of a toilet followed by Wayne Carey.
Tell Stunner than Richmond want him back.
Tell Johnno that for each kick that misses a target he will spend 10 minutes with Warrick Capper in a sauna.

and finally

FFFFS: Tell Tony Shaw to STF up.
