Free Agents - I think that is a term used in American Football and Americamn Baseball. What you probably mean is a list of players coming out of contract at seasons end.

Murray,
Free agents is a term used widely in America to describe a player coming out of contract at seasons end.

Seriously, can we have this discussion after the season has ended?
I enjoy the speculation and gossip as much as anyone, but given that this is our first finals series for 8 years, I think we need to see how the lads perform in September first of all.
And besides that, what do we really gain? Every potential trade at another club is linked to us to inflate their price, and I'll be really surprised if there is anything new in the "who we might cut department".
Septemeber action first, and then I'll be into trade talk as much as anyone (even if some people consider that makes me less of a supporter).

Brown26 - Close but not quite right, there are far more conditions on being a free agent than just "coming out of contract". Anyway the point I was trying to make is why are we using American terms in Australian Rules. Its a bit like commentators I have heard saying "player X needs to STEP UP TO THE PLATE" (baseball) or "player x is a really good RUNNING BACK" (gridiron). or "Shot Clock" (basketball).
Next we will be getting a ball up being called "a line of scrimage" or a rushed behind as a "touchdown point", anyway you get what I mean.

Yeah, and what about the use of 'travel' when a player runs too far and Dermies use of 'slips catch'
