the paper said that rocca played well and looked good in collingwood's win over geelong in the vfl over the weekend. he got a lot of the ball, took a few marks and kicked 3 goals 3 but browny said that he needs to work on his goalkicking. his ankle pulled up ok and he sat the 4th quarter out. he might be a contender for friday night! sidebottem, cook, barham and dawes all played well too.

Still not sure about Rocca, Merret usually does a good job on him and the trip might not be ideal for the big fella. Dawes could be the go, we need another big body down there.

Wouldn't mind seeing Barham get a gig, I like the look of him.

but if rocca's fit and pulled up well and trains solidly this week then he should be considered for friday night. he will take the pressure off cloke too. agree that the likes of sidebottom need a go and sooner rather than later. it might spur on the other young guys to push for a spot knowing that they have a realistic chance of playing seniors seeing the likes of beams getting a game.

Here's a stat on the game;
Collingwood: 2.5.17 ~ 4.7.31 ~ 8.13.61 ~ 13.21.99
Geelong: 3.1.19 ~ 6.4.40 ~ 8.5.53 ~ 11.8.74

GOALS:
Collingwood: Dawes 3, Bryan 3, Rocca 3, Rounds 2, Corrie, Wood.

BEST:
Collingwood: Blair, Cook, Francis, Goldsack, Bryan, Barham.

So Bryan should get the call before Rocca going by that.
Should give Dawes a go as well.

Play him

he will not get any fitter then he is now, no other forward we bring in will take the number 1 defender away from trav.

Play rocca now or start questioning why he was kept on the list

Looking at the scoreline the inaccuracy in the ressies rivals the ones'! Sad

Interesting to see Francis in the best again. Only a rookie, but rated very highly by Brown for his g & d it seems. Maybe some promise there. Anyone who's seen him in action want to comment?

Good to see Ant getting his hands on the ball a bit more this week. optimax might be right in his assessment; there's no point not playing him if he's ready. I'm worried about the step up to seniors though - he might be badly found out.

Please not Bryan again! He'll just serve up the same incompetency at senior level he always does. Sad

Don't forget Rocca spent the last quarter on the bench, possibly saving him for Friday night ? Corrie should come in against the old club.
