OK you track watchers - can someone give us an update on the progress of Brad Oborne. The kid came with big wraps and showed glimpses of skill in a couple of games. He was a bit light but his name doesn't appear as though it's pushing for senior selection.

Another one - does anyone know the real story on Ricky O? Does he have any chance of playing much this year?

A final one - who was picked up in place of Kinnear?

i think Oborne's form has been a little disapointing so far this year, thats why he aint in the seniors.

Ricky is gonna have to get himself fit before they'll consider him.

And we delisted Mark Kinnear and Jamie Tape before the December draft for Shane O'Bree and Simon Hawking.

I watched Ricky Oh! at training once and what I saw was far from inspiring.

He worked on standing hanballs with Pebbles and Willow, before playing kick-to-kick with one of the Assistant Coaches. Ricky Oh! needed about ten little steps before he could kick the ball - evidence his back can't take the jarring impact of a one-step kick.

He then jogged two of the slowest laps I've ever seen, then slumped disconsolately off the field.

It was that final walk down the race which convinced me he's quite possibly near the end. He looked like a guy who was coming to accept that, very possibly, if his body can't withstand the rigors of light-training, there's no way he'd make it back to Senior Football.

c'mon guys give Ricky a break he is a great player if he can just get over all these bloody injuries, just look at him on the last game at Vic Park he did pretty damm good i thought. I agree he is not always that flash on the training track but he is getting over some bad injuries so it's not like he can go at it full pelt just yet.
Last time i spoke to him a few weeks ago he said he hurt his achilles tendon after the practice match but then a week or two later the paper said something else was wrong with him, could have been a hammy or something i can't remember. Just remember he can't prove himself being on the bench.

From what I've seen of Oborne last season I think he could become a very potent forward. I just hope the match committee will agree with me!

At the end of the season he had "cleanup'' surgery on his foot, so this could explain his disapearance.

spidergirl, the chronic injuries ricky has suffered is the precise reason we never should have taken him.

You're right he can't prove himself from the sidelines, but thats where he's been for the last 2 or so seasons. And knowing that we willingly traded a 1st round pick to get him.

Anyhoo i hope he can get on the track and prove some value, other than just someone who pie fans make fun of.
