Another Flight Risk allowed bail. Rolling Eyes

How long before this scum bag flees the Country?

Not only that, but the magistrate allowed this Sri Lankan hoon to keep his license because he needs it for work. Shocked

What in God's name is going on in this country right now? And tell me migrants aren't treated softly. Rolling Eyes

If you or I or any Anglo-Aussie was doing 60 kilometres over the speed limit we'd lose our license immediately - and rightly so.

He shouldn't even be out on bail. This decision is a disgrace and highlights how easily the judiciary in the country is hoodwinked by a sob story. We need some mongrel back on the bench. Where's a Sir Redmond Barry when you need him? Evil or Very Mad

^ I'm really amazed about this Nickster's.

Where's the outage? Going soft on migrants are we?

If I said I wake up every morning and stick pins in my Juliar voodoo doll you'd all jump on me with glee.

But a patently dumb and multiculturally biased court decision like the one above and what do we hear?

The sounds of silence. Rolling Eyes

Angela Merkel and Nicholas Sarkozy are right. Multiculturalism is failing. It used to work when all citizens were treated equally. It doesn't any more because "New Australians" now get ALL the favours.

thats not murder what a terrible thing to say, its a foolish accident, which i believe is called manslaughter,

but it still deserves punishment, but its not murder,

you're right, murder is completely the wrong word in that scenario

Indian authorities have arrested a man who fled Australia after a car crash that killed a pedestrian and seriously injured another in Melbourne five years ago.

Indian student Puneet Puneet, 24, was charged over the crash that killed visiting 19-year-old Queensland student Dean Hofstee as he walked down City Road in Southbank in 2008.

A speeding car slammed into him and his friend Clancy Coker outside a city hotel.

At the time, Puneet was a learner driver and it is alleged he had been travelling at 150 kilometres per hour in a 60kph zone and had been drinking.

Mr Coker was also seriously injured in the incident.

Puneet pleaded guilty to a charge of culpable driving and later fled the country while on bail in 2011.

He was arrested and faced court in India yesterday where he was remanded in custody.

A date is yet to be set for his extradition.

I am impressed with the challenge the Indian police had to find this jerk.

I am very impressed with the challenge you had to (a) remember this thread, and (b) find it!

He's still fighting extradition of course, because he won't get a fair trial, Australia's a racist country, I'm too sick blah blah blah.

What I've always wanted to know about this is - he fled Australia using a friend or relative's passport.... what happened to them? Do they get in any trouble for giving them their passport? Did they claim it was stolen by him? Were they given a new one?

Few old names in this thread, don't see hardly any of them here anymore.

I have suspicions that he's still here under a different name, but I guess only the admins could see that kind of thing.

Have to say, that's a pretty steep penalty for giving someone a passport. All sounds a bit OJ Simpson robbery case to me (we didn't get the guy we wanted when we wanted to, so we'll throw the book for something else).

Yes it sounds like it to me too, to lack the ability to develop emotional connection.

Thanks Bucks5, that's good.

What sort of punishment would you have thought appropriate David? For deliberately helping someone evade justice? Someone that killed someone else don't forget.

Something, undoubtedly – probably not a jail term, though.
