Must have been doubles and he must have drank them quick, you'd need something like 8 standard drinks in an hour to get to that level. 4 double bourbans with cola would do it, or 4 stubbies of Turkey and cola.
As far as the other stuff goes, he's here on a student visa, they've taken his passport so he can't slip out of the country, so try and sentance him appropriately.
If he can't afford a lawyer, he gets legal aid. No problems with that.
If he get's found guilty, the court will decide what's appropriate. Just deporting him wouldn't cut it IMO. Gaol time first, then GTFO if guilty.

I'll show just as much disdain for anyone - black, white or brindle - who, through sheer stipidity and/or selfishness, take the life of another.
If he had've killed himself, I would have been the first to throw a party!
The fact this wanker was a learner driver, and had been drinking, has no bearing on the fact he is only here on a student visa.
