Quote: | A LEARNER driver charged over the death of a student as he allegedly drove at 150km/h while three times over the limit is free on bail.
Student Puneet Puneet, 19, was driving his Holden Commodore in City Rd, Southbank, when it hit two Gold Coast university students as they left the Mantra Hotel to meet friends early yesterday |
Call Centre work must have better pay than I thought!
Quote: | Mr Puneet, an Indian who has been living in Australia for 18 months on a student visa, appeared before Melbourne Magistrates' Court charged with culpable driving. |
I just hope he spends quite a few intimate nights with Bubba before being sent home.

Unbelievable - not you Dale, the driver.
For all we know he was probably going to become a taxi driver (they're all Indians now aren't they?). |

it's absolutely disgusting that any L plate driver can have had that much alcohol in his system and have been doing up to 150km in a 60km zone (alleged). _________________ Jacqui © Proud Pies 2003 and beyond |

It's ok Dale, it's clear that your hatred for L and P-Platers extends far beyond any racist feelings you may harbour.
Seriously though, terrible story and let's hope that he's not back on the road for a very long time. _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

I don't have any hatred towards L or P-platers, just those who think that they are invincible and the road laws mean nothing to them.
I've even dobbed in a halfwit across the road who is still a P-plater, but drives his V8 HSV Commodore up our street like it was a drag strip. The dickhead did it when I had someone from the RTA here, and his car was immediately confiscated.
That certainly made the neighbours feel safer, especially the kids who often played outside. _________________ Whale

^He did have someone with him.
From the article:
Quote: | A passenger in the car, a man, 23, from Glen Iris, suffered minor injuries. |
His fully licensed passenger 'mate' is also facing charges. _________________ Whale

Quote: | Mr Puneet has been ordered to report to police five times a week, surrender his passport, not attend points of international departure, and not leave the state. |
Wouldn't his VISA be attached to his passport? If so, would he now be deemed as an illegal immigrant? _________________ Whale

Maybe because the driver owned the car?
The first quote in the first post reads:
Quote: | Student Puneet Puneet, 19, was driving his Holden Commodore |
Would you let anyone drive your 'new' car? _________________ Whale

But, he would no longer have the appropriate paperwork to prove that he is here legally.
Anyway, it's of no consequence as he is probably already half way home, and once he gets there, will vanish, never to be found by Australian authorities. _________________ Whale
