I have just found out I have been abandonded for the football this week does anyone know if there is a group getting together before, after or at the game ?
I really would rather meet some people than spend the afternoon alone at the footy.

Well i guess that depends on your age...lol If you are over 18 you are more than welcome to come to the Cricketers Pub where a group of us gather in the beer garden. 99% of the people are nice but dont worry about the 1%.....lol So thats one option for you to consider.
During the game i sit in the Ponsford stand ground level behind the goals so if you enjoy vocal support then its the place to be.
Hope this helps you!!
Let's get down to business
I don't got no time to play around, what is this?

Come off it JLC, you know that the MOST vocal place at the footy is standing with the CAAS squad. Its where all the chants you guys are now singing originated.
MagpieMel, we stand in M2-M3 in the southern stand. ITs good fun and we will be out of the weather too.

True at Colonial standing near you guys makes for great atmosphere. However when it comes to the MCG i still believe the Ponsofrd stand is the best place to be. Nothing beats the Ponsford Stand as i believe its the home for Magpie Supporters. In 1990 the Ponsford stand was the home of the Magpies.
I never said i was creative.....lol Your chants that you guys come up with are pretty cool and thats why we sing them as well. A lot of the chants also originate from the soccer as well. Although i have to say whoever thought of the Josh Fraser chant needs to be elevated to cult status as that chant rocks big time.
cheers

The Josh Fraser chant got a pretty good workout in Adelaide. It's very popular.
I think it was actually adapted from a mid-1990s soccer chant for the French Manchester United player, Eric Cantona. But it was a stroke of pure genius to put "Josh Fras-ahhh" in there instead. Love it.
As a historian, I feel it is important that we acknowledge the contribution of the Collingwood Alcohol Appreciation Society to our cultural heritage. Well done, chaps.
But Mel ... if you REALLY want to go where the action is, try sitting near the Official Cheer Squad ...
And make sure you join the People's Front of Judea while you're at it.
But wherever you choose to sit, Mel ... make sure you join in the Winner's Circle after the game. I believe it's going to be at the back of the Ponsford this week. After we've demolished the Pussy Cats, just look for a raucous bunch of deleriously happy Pie fans in a Circle chanting their tonsils out in a most primal fashion.

Watch out for the man in golds hands. THe ancestors say they tend to walk when the gold man talks. LOL
You can sit anywhere you want Mel, just as long as its with Collingwood people and not near pussy supporters. They would have to rate as the worst supporters around, where were they when they were losing? probably putting there mittens on.

No, we stand up the back in M2-M3. The mens toilets are right behind which comes in very handy. We are normally right behind the Cheer Squad and a lot of Social Club members sit in front of us. We dont get there until around 1.30 as there are drinks to be had in the social club by all of us. Feel free to come stand with us and join in the songs.

Well if Cam turns up wearing a (school) dress and carrying a handbag, like the last time we played the Pussies at the Gee (2000), you can not go past the Ponsford Stand. That was a sight to behold. And it was absolutely freezing that day!
But you will be able to decide, once you meet people in the beer garden.

Unfortuntaley I have lost Chris's phone number. But he's mostly at the Cricketer's before 12, so you can catch him there.
