Re - Singing YNWL at games, Leave YNWL to the Celtic & Liverpool Football Clubs.

It's what makes those clubs special, hence the reason Melbourne Victory don't sing the song out of respect to those clubs and it ain't right singing it therefore we should be the same, don't make fools of yourselves.

Re - The YouTube Clip, it takes me a bit to get my teary but that's up there.

BS - The song is great for anyone who wants to sing it. It's just not for Celtic's and Liverpool fans, Those they made it famous.

BS yourself.

The day I see 40,000 Collingwood supporters at the M.C.G with a A4 peice of paper with the words on it sing the song i'll be proven wrong.

Well I doubt that would happen but There is no reason why no else can sing because the Celtic and Liverpool sing it

I'm more interested in the pre game videos that they showed in the years after the 'Never Walk Alone' one.

I think one was U2 - 'Everlasting Love'.

And there was another, but i cant remember the song.

2003 they played the song Love Your Life by Silverchair with the highlights from the 2002 season and in 2004 they played Im Still Here by John Rzeznik, the lead singer of the Goo Goo Dolls with highlights from 2003 in it. Pretty good stuff, sometimes they the 2003 highlights clip at Lexus before the matches, must borrow it one day!!!

Frak Celtic, Frak liverpool, they don't own the song, I get goosebumps when I hear it and couldn't give a rats toss pot for either of them. I'm with you DTM.

Great clip, great stuff. Thanks fav's and thanks Dan for the ask.

I don't care who/what club has used that song before.

That clip is AWESOME and the song is more than fitting to the tribute.

I've long since misplaced my dvd too. Thanks heaps for uploading it.

So many great, and some not so great memories. But the words are true. If you barrack for Collingwood, through the good and the bad, we're never really alone, are we?

I believe the montage should be updated every year and sung before each Collingwood game....and I have been in the Kop end of Anfield singing that song with the Liverpool faithful and would have no hesitation standing side by side with my Collingwood family singing it with every bit of the same passion that the Kopites sing it!

Bloody Brilliant Stuff!

Cheers

The song isnt owned by anyone although it may have been used first by another team. Its a beautiful song and a great and moving clip. I actually enjoy this song with or without the highlights and have it on cd in my car but I do much prefer it with the Pie-Lights!!!

"You'll Never Walk Alone" is a show tune from the 1945 Rodgers and Hammerstein musical, Carousel.

Because the song is included during the graduation finale of the musical, it has become a standard, sung by graduation classes in the United States.

The song is also sung at football clubs around the world, where it is performed by a massed chorus of supporters on matchday; this tradition began at Liverpool F.C. in the early 1960s and later spread to several other clubs.

When you walk through the storm

Hold your head up high,

And don't be afraid of the dark.

At the end of the storm is a golden sky

And the sweet silver song of a lark.

Walk on through the wind,

Walk on through the rain,

Though your dreams be tossed and blown.

Walk on walk on, with hope in your heart

And you'll never walk alone

You'll never walk alone

From what I understand, Sony Music Entertainment own the copyright, so the song is actually owned by someone.

I should have been more specific in sayin its not owned by a "team" but im sure you knew what I meant. Everything is owned by someone or council or orgainsation etc but this song is only owned by Sony. If these soccer teams can use it then so can we, fantastic clip!!!
