My work with the Police took me to a brothel.

Boy I felt naive.

First time I'd ever been in a brothel

The "informant" so to speak was a sex worker. She had two particularly extra large features that I studiously & conspicuously avoided watching - keeping my eyes firmly on her forehead each time I was engaged with her, in a work related professional capacity of course Wink

ha ha. Funny walking in to do an assessment. 3 sex workers all smiling and waving as we entered the area (who wouldn't have known why we were there) - I actually did think WTF a the time.

We had to head to head down the back whee it was a bit hush hush

When they said "Hi WPT, the usual is it tonight is it"? was a bit worrying

Heard someone at the shops say "Happy Holidays", why don't more people say that? Surely 'happy' is a word used much more often than 'merry'.

I've never said 'have a merry birthday', ' merry Friday', 'merry weekend'. Why is it (pretty much) always "merry" Christmas?

Just thought it was odd that the more common word is almost totally overlooked.

(also thought it was odd that I had to go back about 15 pages to find this thread - search function was useless Sad Has there really been nothing odd ALL year? Confused)

I think its competitor over at 'Things that made you go WTF' has proven more resilient. Razz

Happy holidays is what I hear people at work say all the time these days (a while back it was compliments of the season - that sounds so formal!)

I say happy holidays cause it then covers off Xmas, New Year and whatever else people are celebrating - lazy! Razz

Try just saying "All the best for the festive season"!! Covers everything.

Others can say "Jesus is the reason for the season" which is fine by me because after all it IS Christmas!!

it was never supposed to be a competitor, each thread should be able to stand on their merits and I commend LuvDids for understanding the distinction and resurrecting this thread.
