What concerns me now is that if MCG has broken his leg (and what a gutsy effort it was to put his body on the line for his team) he may take some time to get back into the side, and therefore, may not get the nomination for Rising Star that he so richly deserves.

I hope that today's scans prove negative (can an x-ray be anything other than negative?) and that he has escaped serious injury.

MCG - A legend in the making.

Leg not broken, but the boys in a lot of pain so scans will be required to look deeper into soft tissue injury.
Good news? Maybe. At least its not a traditional break.

Is this 100% confirmed that he doesn't have a broken leg?

Let's hope it is not serious. After he went off Voss gained control. I wonder how he feels knowing that for most of the game he was punished by a 17 yr old kid.

WE LOVE YA MCG COME BACK SOON.

Hopefully our ball-magnet will be back soon.

Strictly hypothetically, say he was out for the whole year and he didn't get a nomination- who really cares?

The value of the rising star nomination is grossly overrated and as long as he continues to develop and perform for us- another St Kilda player with a career full of 100 point losses can win it again for all I care.

Great news B_W.
I hate to see injuries to anyone (yes, even opponents), but that would have been the main downer from this great win of ours.
I'm a great fan of Johnson too. I think he is going to be a star.
Anyone see his report. The TV didn't see it fully as far as I remember, but it seem a warding off push that struck the player on the chest. I loved our toughness btw. Last week the commentators said that teams were often awed by how physically big Brisbane was. I think we were a physical match and we at least are still growing!!!

As you say, the TV did not show the report to any great extent.
The impressive thing about Johnno after the report was the way he put his head down and continued to contribute to the team effort. A lot of players lose focus after their name goes in the book but Johnno played as if nothing had happened..
Well done Johnno!

Good point Craig. He didn't do that last time he was reported and sufferred a form slump. Johnston is an important player for us because he is a hard nut. His hardness compliments the skills of a few of the others. We have a good spread of skill and toughness now. Hopefully he gets off because we will need him this week.

From what I could see on TV, Power ( I hink it was) struck him first, he "retaliated" but didn't hit him above the shoulder.

If anything comes out of this, Power gets reported on video evidence and Johnno gets cleared.

I was sitting behind the Johnson incident and I have to agree with GreatGonzo, Johnno retaliated and the umpire saw that, so hopefully he should get off.

Great win PIES, keep it up!
