Monday 13th May, 2002, a Sad day for me.

I wish to share with you all the sad news that my mother Glenys HEDGE passed away on Monday after a short illness. My mum was a passionate Collingwood supporter and one of the greatest memories I have of her when I was young is when she used to stand up and sing the club song at the top of her voice (she could not sing for shit) as the players ran out onto the ground.

Rest in peace Mum.

I thank you all for listening. It makes things a little easier for me to do this. I hope you all understand.

My condolences to you Seth.
I'm glad you have some happy memories.
I too can't sing for shit - just ask my kids - they will no doubt remember me for that one day too. And the fact that when they were little, I used to throw them up into the air whenever we kicked a goal. Fortunately for them they are now about a foot taller than me now so I can't do that anymore.
Your Collingwood family will ALWAYS be here.

I've been through the loss of my mother (13 years ago) and I know it's a gut-wrenching experience ... one that most people have to face at some stage of their lives, but nothing can heal the pain except time ... With time comes acceptance, but it's a bit of a journey getting there. My thoughts are with you, Seth.

Just one thing, though. Do you reckon they'll let her in the choir up there? If her voice is as bad as you say, she might just have to mouth the words.
