Her name was Karen Carpenter and what a legacy she left us with great songs like,Close to you,We've only just begun and Yesterday once more

Just the most beautiful singing voice that you would ever hope to hear in an artist and gone way too soon at age 33

Gone but never forgotten, the voice of an angel

(can we please leave out the tasteless jokes about how she died out)

Technically, wouldn't we have gained an angel?

Actually, I've never heard of her.
What were some of her songs?

And I reckon it's always been that way.

I'm not familiar with the charts at the moment GR10, but there's plenty of quality music out there.... Nine Inch Nails, Radiohead, Muse, The Cure (yep they're still going, lol)... and I'm sure there's plenty of other quality bands out there, no matter what kind of genre you're into, you just have to scratch under the surface (i.e. the mainstream commercial radio stations), and there's plenty of good stuff to listen to.

Some really good stuff does find its way onto the charts on occasion, it's the radio stations that end up killing it with their constant repetitions. They don't have the balls to play something that's a little new, 'different' or 'out there' for fear of backlash from their listeners.
I don't blame them though, they cater for the masses and most people don't like to have their same old, same old musical tastes challenged, which gets them out of their comfort zone. If it's boring old cliches, rehashed hits and hype they want, that's what they'll get.
