i laugh when i hear Collingwood jokes, and i laugh at Aussie jokes. I would never even dream of throwing the 'racist' card at someone making a joke about aussies wearing thongs cos they arnt smart enough to tie shoelaces. Just as im sure no sane englishman took offence when Yul Brynner declared (as the King) that English wernt 'scientific enough' for the use of chopsticks. Theres no difference (well except collingwood, cos its not quite a 'race' yet).  |

You're right, except that jokes about race are often used to alienate and enforce stereotypes. For example, I don't laugh at "abo" jokes, and I would hope no one else does either.
It's all about intentions, and while I'm 99% sure Joffa isn't racist, it's not always clear.
Collingwood supporters and Muslims are very different groups of people mate, I'm sure you can acknowledge that. Muslims are vilified and harassed in society on a daily basis, deported for no good reason, and treated with suspicion by governments the world over, Collingwood supporters gets teased light heartedly about a sport.
