my estimation of symonds has diminished over this but that is of little consequence. |

Maybe he did, no one really knows what Singh said to him
But the facts are Symonds started it for no reason at all and once again when someone doesnt back down the Aussies go crying to the umpires |

Yeah I know, I go against the grain of being leftwing on some things. lol
Having lived and worked/visited India a few times I know their attitude and the way they deal with issues. Whilst I should be compassionate because most of their people live on the street and in squalor. The ones that buy their way here and live the high life over there (ala cricketers) just piss me off. |

I think its time both teams moved forward now and put the whole thing behind them. And FFS, if anyone is going tomorrrow night, please don't stoop down to Mumbai standards.
Cheer the boys on and let it go! After all, yelling racist or derogatory remarks will not change a thing and will simply continue a vicious cycle. |

and according to the outcome that's effectively what was said by singh. but you miss the point, as es reinforced, symonds had no need to even approach singh.

The difficulty in this debate is that everyone has taken sides and rather misses the fact that everyone is in the wrong here.
Symons behaved like a Goose by having a go at Singh over a friendly gesture he made towards Lee.
Singh's response to Symons was either a racist comment in English or a an extremely offensive (sexist) comment in Hindi.
Ponting was required to make a complaint by the terms agreed to by the players and the ICC but given past sledging (albeit non-racist sledging) by the Australians and Ponting himself in the past, the complaint from Ponting did not sit well with other cricketers and sports journalists.
The BCCI and the some Indian cricketers defended Harbijhan Singh on the basis the Indians cannot be racists. LOL, what do they think the caste system is?
The BCCI used the economically powerful position of Indian cricket to blackmail the ICC into specific terms of appeal and virtually into downgrading the charges.
Cricket Australia, after allowing offensive sledging for more than twenty years, suddenly was not prepared to defend their own players when they had been offensively sledged...and effectively caved in to Indian blackmail.
The ICC could not even give Judge Hanson accurate records of previous charges against Singh.
I can't see anyone or any institution that emerges with credit from the affair.
