Thanks Dale, has not got a hard drive built in though.

The way to go in the future is to have a HDD in a set top box. You can then transfer from that to a DVD recorder as new ones are coming with HD recording capability.

I've been considering getting a hard disc recorder, my dad has one for the lounge and I was thinking I should get one. Also I need a new DVD player and video I figure if I am going to have more DVDs then videos I might as well go with one of these.

Wait 18 months then pick up a 1080 native resolution LCD/Plasma with built in HDD & Blue-Ray DVD recorder.
They are coming.

and for those buying tech at the moment, avoid all the super deals on Hitachi that will be offered over the next couple of weeks.

Sounds like warranties from now on are null & void.

By the look of the news tonight Dave, there might be a few of them available at the Police Auctions in the not so distant future. Wink

6 X 12 Burner towers and a many terabytes of data. They were caught because reports suggested they were sellling drugs or manufacturing due to the high power use on the premises and the high volume of traffic in and out of the premises. The drug squad hit the jackpot and lost the browy points as they were removed from the case.

One of the houses in St. Albans was raided late last year and got nailed then. I know someone who purchased one of their DVD's (from Laverton Market) and apparently, they are either downloaded from the internet (torrents, anyone!), or copied from a digital video camera, which was smuggled into a cinema.

They are shit quality - poor sound and grainy and/or dark picture - and they had the audacity to charge $10 a copy.

I hate cinema jobs, at the moment I cannot believe the amount of latest movies (DVD rips) I have downloaded in the past month. Very rare to have so many before they are released but it is critics review time and their copies some how end up on the net. Good viewing and all I can say many are over rated and to have the audacity to charge people to go and see them in a cinema shuld be a criminal offence. Razz

Some people have been getting emails saying you have been tracked downloading certain movies and you will be charged. These have been forwarded on by the ISP's who have received letters. I am yet to see an email and I would download 10 gig a month on average.

They are not charging individuals as such just people that on sell at markets etc. The cost to take you and I to court is not worth it.

Going back about 3 years ago, there were 3 blokes that used to get hundreds of DVD covers photocopied at my shop every week. They would sell them at Carribean Gardens Market.

They told me that in the end they stopped doing it because it was getting far too risky. Bit of a shame in that regard as I made a fortune out of them. I went down there once to see what was happening, and was amazed to see every third stall selling pirated DVD's.

I bought one from them to see what it was like. The sound quality was complete garbage. Basically I said that I would much rather not watch it than to buy garbage like that again.
