Party teen facing child porn charges
A 16-year-old youth has been charged with producing child pornography and creating a public nuisance in relation to a wild party in Melbourne's outer suburbs last weekend.
Police said the boy has been bailed to appear at a children's court on February 22.
Another 16-year-old was also interviewed by detectives.
A brief is to be prepared in relation to the other boy.
The two boys were taken into custody by police on Wednesday morning and interviewed.
The party on Saturday night attracted at least 500 revellers.
Up to 30 police officers, a helicopter and the dog squad were called to the party, while police cars and neighbours' property were damaged.

I am assuming it is for taking the vid of his mate 'streaking', it is outrageous to be charged for producing child porn over that. They are desperate to make an example of this kid.
Lucky he is under age, imagine how stuffed up your life would be for having that on your police record. Not many people or prospective employers would give you the chance to explain that before making harsh judgements about you.

FWIW, I wasn't supporting him, just trying to put his actions in context. I think he's an immature self absorbed attention loving tool, but he doesn't deserve the attention he's got for holding a party that went wrong while his parents were away. The media turned him into a celebrity, now they crucify him for being what they made him. 
Unless they found kiddie porn on his PC, I think this is trumped up BS. Trying to respond to the public outcry by being seen to be doing something. (BTW, I don't blame the cops, they'd be under instructions)
The kid hosted a party while his parents were away. He lied to his parents. He's 16 years old. The three things sort of go together. He didn't ask for the celebrity ot ask ACA or TT to stalk him. Yes, he enjoyed the experience and had a good time playing with them. (see my earlier description).
He needs a serious foot up the ass (otherwise known as a leather enema) and is displaying his immaturity by hiding from his parents and refusing to face the music.
But he doesn't deserve to be publically feted or pilloried

To have committed the offence of "producing child pornography" (the charge), a person needs to have filmed or photographed someone under the age of 18 years in a "indecent sexual manner or context". That can be taken fairly broadly. Unlike something like statutory rape, there is no defence if you are within 2 years of the subject of the film, or even younger than the subject.
There were reports of a video of someone streaking (perhaps on his myspace page?). Unfortunately "producing child pornography" potentially encompasses behaviour from the absolute abhorrent to the almost harmless.
I'm with stui magpie - I'd wait for more info before condemnation, it may be completely trivial...

BTW, I'm not supporting or turning on him, I form an opinion based on the facts presented and AFAIC, nothing more has been .
