Is anyone familiar with this great, eccentric director?

I saw his latest film, Inland Empire, on Sunday, and it blew my mind. Admittedly, it was a bit long at 169 minutes, and the 'plot' was almost indecipherable, but it was still fun... and it's got me wanting to see it again already.

He's probably most famous for 80s films like The Elephant Man, Dune and Blue Velvet, but I reckon it's the lesser known films like Eraserhead and Mulholland Drive that are his best.

I just got the Full set of Twin Peaks on DVD (I would argue David that it's his most famous work). Awesome series. He's an interesting Director. Although I can't tell if he is on purposely messing with our minds with his films. They can be very dense and abstract!

Oh yeah. Inland Empire made his other films look normal, and that's saying something Laughing

I haven't actually ever seen Twin Peaks, do you know if it's easy to get hold of the show? I heard that the movie (one of the few of his I haven't seen) bombed, but the series was considered to be really really good.

Show has come out in a "Gold Edition" set. Pretty cheap about $60. The movie was the one that came at the end of the show. It was quite "nasty" but the series itself is brilliant, very witty and beautifully written and filmed.

I've never really been a fan of his, but I definitely respect him as a filmmaker/artist/auteur.

I love a lot of his work. I saw Inland Empire a month or so ago and it was a mesmerizing mind ****. Twin Peaks and Mulholland Drive are my favourites by Lynch.
