Post subject: My plans re: Being out of work | |
|
I have been considering today that I would look into possibly either starting a small business in Queenstown, or look into maybe starting a radio station. Both ideas I am going to actually research and will be open to any advice if someone has any.
As for the business I was thinking DVDs, mainly sports and perhaps "special interest" so it would be AFL, NRL, wrestling, motor sports, etc. Or I could just open up a business that provided people with Professional Wrestling dvds WWE, and other promotions around the world. Since you cannot order DVDs from ROH, and TNA at this stage in Australia I could import them and sell them within my store.
My radio station if I ever got that far apart from being a small dream of working at a radio station and being a broadcaster is to make a sports station. Tasmania doesn't have a sports radio station, we have AFL and other sports via ABC radio, and Heart FM here in Tasmania...but we don't have our own sports station like SEN.
I am just starting off with ideas with what career move I could make, I mean at the moment I have no idea what I really want to do and I am brain storming. I suppose all these ideas are better then nothing right? _________________ Ðavâgé

Yeah, we get in the TNA DVDs in and they sell pretty well. ROH ones will be coming out for retail sale in the US soon, so we'll get those in, too. _________________ "There's an old saying in Tennessee, I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee, that says, fool me once, shame on... shame on you. Starting a radio station is a long, long term commitment.
Ask PeterWH. I'm sure some of the licensing red tape will blow you away. |

Plus I'm moving to a small town, maybe I should perhaps take a course and get into broadcasting....I mean I doubt I'd have what it takes to run one anyways..
Apparently if I do TAFE next year in Queenstown I get $200 at the start of the year and an extra $30 a fortnight. There's a few things to ponder for the "future" I guess. _________________ Ðavâgé

I'm going to do a bit of research on running a small business and see if I have what it takes to be able to run one. |

i would probably suggest doing a few business management courses, not necessarily through TAFE, but just some courses so you know how to manage money, employment, whatever else u need.
you wanna have a good background, so when other business people are talking to you, you understand.
however, this is my opinion and ive never done business in my life, not even at highschool.
the ideas sound good tho! _________________ Collingwood forever and ever...amen |
