Just how much of your personal life should your employer be entitled to know?

The bank's My Difference survey asks staff to tick if they are heterosexual, homosexual, bisexual, transgender or other.

Employees are also asked about their religion and quizzed if they are comfortable discussing their sexual orientation with managers

absolutely not!

When i worked at Telstra, we had to fill int he Employee Opinion Survey. It's anonymous of course, however, each and every single person was given their own personal 'secret' pin number, allocated to their employee number and name, to log onto the survey.

You were asked with unit you worked in and where. How is all of that anonymous?

there's no big deal made if your heterosexual...........there should be no big deal made if your anything else either.

No employer has the right to ask those questions.

It might be a good thing, might promote openness in the work place?

Management take a big risk asking these questions though, as anything they do in the future could be linked to 'discrimination', sometimes it's just better they don't know for their own good.

Same old...........Tess.

Another thread hijacked so you can cry "victim" and promote your tired agenda. More careless handling of the truth, too.

I guess your quote of WhyPhilWhy?'s response to you was from a PM. I wonder how he feels about you publishing it? Interesting to read though that you requested that I be red carded. A bit over the top, don't you think?

As for your statement: "we as a gang started a discussion picking on someone who had attacked one of our own"....how bloody hypoctitical can you get??? How many of your posts attacking the coach or a committee member or Joffa would you like thrown back in your face?

Your "personal circumstance", as you choose to put it, wouldn't be an issue if you didn't bring it up at every opportunity.

Now run off to the mods again and demand that I be banned.
Oh, and don't forget the usual claim that I'm stalking you.

No, I wouldn't answer, because my sexual preference has nothing to do with my work or anyone else other than my partner.

Wrong Frank! For instance, if you choose to be a paedophile, then I don't want you to be a school teacher of children. That's why we do 'police checks'.

dictionary.com

sexual:
1. of, pertaining to, or for sex: sexual matters; sexual aids.

preference:
1. the act of preferring.

Pica by posting about me you have in effect made the thread about me.

Why would they bother red carding you when you can like so many others re-register under another name!

Stalking me, well.......

Umm, no, it was YOU who made the thread about you.

And, if they wouldn't bother red carding me, it sorta begs the question... why bother asking them to???

if the workplace is intent on building strategies to develop/provide support networks and services to their diverse workforce with an aim to enhance employee engagement then no problem. how else will they capture the data to assist decision making?

Shame on you Jock, you've lowered the tone of the whole thread by speaking sense.

Not exactly, in bold above^, who does the data assist to make decisions? And what decisions are they making? Do they favour anyone for? Or against?

Seriously tho, I'm gonna leave this thread..well almost.
