I fail to see the relevance of that allusion.

The money that is wasted on this theory could feed the starving millions of the world.

Yeah, that's right, you're the only one not being conned.
All those scientists and world leaders are all being duped, but not you, you are way too clever for that crap.

So what do you do for a job?
Climate Scientist?
PM of some developed country?

Surely not just a shit kicker in the burbs!!!!

yep. Us signing up to Kyoto will really help without the nations that cause the most pollutants signing up as well.

Meaningless gesture.

Fine Skids. Here's the link to the Intergovernental Panel on Climate Change's fourth report. Feel free to point out where the holes in the science are and to provide peer reviewed evidence that contradicts the reports findings.

Stui I can see your reasoning in what you are saying. However, by us signing may just break the camels back. I firmly believe the next USA Government will sign when Bush gets the boot. As for China, well nothing can sway this country unless we put the pressure on by blocking imports from this country (at least our health would be better). But, If we fail to act now in the future we will have no one to blame but ourselves.

Each and everyone of us can start doing something now. Replacing bulbs with energy savers. Call your local Energy Company and ask them to switch some of you power use to green, costs a little more but to think that differences can be made without hurting the pocket a little is wrong. For a Country that receives more sunlight than other countries in the World we should be leading the Globe in Solar Technology, but thanks to the outgoing Government not throwing research money into the project has put us behind. Hopefully Rudd and his government will bite the bullet and proceed with some action.

If we as a Country sign the Protocol it more than likely will affect our back pockets as well.

The question is, is it worth it??

IMO YES!!!

As stated elsewhere on here phantom, if we don't sign, we will not get a seat at the next round.
It is imperative we sign so that we can be intimately involved later.

Why is that so difficult for some people to grasp?
Staggering stuff

Yes I hear you frankiboy. And on the other cheek, I'll say that, signing Kyoto is hardly a step backwards.

We all really do need to clean up our own backyard.

Frank Stone, you are sounding rather repetitive asking "are you a scientist".

Some scientist are honest, some bias, some corrupted and some have agendas. Are you a scientist Frank?

EBB, you have the mistaken belief that:
1. You decide what is contained in my post
2. I must seek your approval in relation to the content of my posts before it goes public
3. I care what you think.

Wrong on all 3 counts.
But hey, you give it your best shot, why don't ya.
