The Libs elect their own leader. You won't have to bother, David. Wink

Pencil in M Turnbull now. One of the very few Libs to actually get a swing in his favour.

C'mon No balls??? I don't support any party but the guy was in opposition to Hawke and Keating and delivered 12 budgets in government, some with some really bloody tough decisions, I would like to see how many of you have the same size Balls to do that. Be as cock-a-hoot as you like Labor supporters but the fact is you are having a country handed to you that is in pretty good shape...and the Labor party has only 1 term to prove themselves because 3% is bloody hard to defend(just ask John Howard...lol)

Cheers

?
Howard annointed him and his only real contest would have been if Turnball nominated.
Looks like Turnball will be the leader. Unlees Joe Hockey stands, which I hope he does. Got a lot of time for Hockey.

in what was a diabolical telecast last night on seven i thought joe hockey performed sensationally. he spoke very well and took the loss on the chin with great dignity and at no stage did he ever choose to usurp john howard.

Geez, you guys who reckon Costello has no balls must have a low opinion of people like Latham who lost an election then promptly resigned and people like Beattie and bracks who win an election then reitre with no warning part way thru their term.

At least Costello has the nads to sit out his full term.

mal brough would've been a shoo-in.

i applaud costello for putting his family first for a change. i think that is more courageous than having a crack at the party leadership.

Surely, you jest, Jock ?

He would've simply inherited the party leadership. No courage needed.

The most difficult time for any oppo leader is immediately a new government is elected. Costello knows that and simply bailed out.
