Yes Eddie, Victoria's an absolute basket-case at the moment isn't it. What exactly would you like the government to change? |

Howard to lose Bennelong would make it a truly magnificent day but might be a bit much to ask. |
Pretty damn close. Shame I didn't have a decent punt on it. |

I was surprised that you got the Tasmanian one right, the Liberals seemed to be pretty confident of securing Bass. Seems that Lyons and Dension was not much of a fight for the old Liberals they were blown out of the water.
Next time maybe you need to take a good old punt on the out come. _________________ Ðavâgé

Everything, anyone paid by the state govt is underpaid, our firefighters went 4 years without an EBA because they wouldnt sign it off, now they are using unsafe gear because they refuse to get the new ones they want, teachers have to strike and it still gets them nowhere except alot of kids get a day off and many workplaces get disrupted as parents have to take the day off.
The hospitals are a disgrace, they have turned a paid for freeway into a toll road that may never be finished, they want to take water from drought stricken areas because they cant come up with anything sensible to take care of the water crisis so have decided keep the metropolitan areas fine and screw the country
Plus I am sure many, many other problems which they just continue to blame on the previous Liberal government a lifetime ago
No wonder Bracks ran away with some lame excuse |

This is after the event. I got out of bed yesterday and walked up and brought paper at 8am and to do my vote early. It was packed. I have worked many elections and the thing that hit home to me yesterday was the amount of people who voted early. From experience the reason behind this is that they have made their minds up and want the Government out. I told this to “she who must be obeyed” and she laughed and said no way they have things to do. We are in a safe Labour seat it an 11% swing in its favour to see the sitting member not only retain his seat but make the opposing candidate look a goose. |

Yep, amazing, we have a local member who will do nothing for this area, of course its quite obvious why they lost here but I dont want to get controversial
And a quick check of the results confirms my suspicions, everywhere around here is a Liberal safe seat except one other local seat which doesnt suprise me at all |

You appear to be alleging some kind of electoral fraud.
Spill the beans. Or stfu
Oh, and I see, despite paying out on me and others who were looking forward to the telecast, that you actually watched the thing, forgoing your "DVD night" That must have been a sacrifice.
Anyone know of a Real Estate agent in a safe Liberal seat? Please forward his/her name to eddie so he can move house ASAP! |

No, just a controversial 'issue'

When the swing is towards the Labor party and still they hold the seat comfortably before postal votes etc then its a pretty safe seat, when the tide turns again next election after 3 years of hell it will be out to about 20%+ again
Alot of country seats are very, very safe Coalition seats |

A local member who will do nothing for the area?
Sorry, you really don't know Mike Symon at all. I've known Mike personally for 18 months and know how hard he's worked for the community in Deakin during that time. I used to joke with him and his wife about him never been home, but out there helping others and having to reintroduce himself to his wife and kids, and this was even before he chose to be a candidate in the Federal Election!.
A most deserved win. _________________ Jacqui © Proud Pies 2003 and beyond |
