Labor to pick up a nett gain of between 24-26 seats in the Reps, well above the 16 required to form government in their own right.

Qld +10
NSW+9
NT+1
Tas+2
SA+5
WA-2
Vic no change
ACT no change

Howard to lose Bennelong would make it a truly magnificent day but might be a bit much to ask.

Labour to pick up 14 seats and the coalition to continue in government.

Is it stuffed at the moment?

It's actually in pretty damn good shape and will be regardless of who wins, at least in the short term.

Dave, you're as entitled to have and voice an opinion as anyone else, but that doesn't mean that yours is right.

Liberal Party to be kicked out of politics. FOREVER!

Well known baker franchise to say DOH! out loud when Howard becomes a nobody. Yes this franchise likes the IR laws, allows them to exploit "apprentices".

My prediction???

Not sure, but I think whoever wins will be by the slimmest of margins.

Labor will take the seat of Franklin, if you go by the way of the voters that were voting when I went in, most of which were voting Labor. I think Bass was already a Labor seat, Braddon was a Liberal seat, seems Howard has given up on retaining any Tasmania seats so that would be 3 Tasmanian seats to Labor if this was to happen.

Lyons and Dension could could be an interesting one, haven't heard much about those 2 seats at all in the election.

Franklin already is Labor Proto, as is Lyons and Denison. ALP would expect to hold these three and pick up Braddon and Bass, both of which are marginal Libs on less than 3%.

I don't have an indication of who was popular, I avoided the people handing out how to vote cards by going around the back. Come up to the side and they all spot you just as you're walking in the door. Laughing

Got pinned on the way out by Red Cross people looking for blood donars though.

I'm in a safe Labour seat so it'll be interesting.

Anything is possible, there's just varying degrees of probability.

I am shocked!
As most people know, I'm in the 2nd safest Liberal seat in the country.
But yesterday I picked up the Shepparton News only to find it actively promoting voting against the sitting member!
I have never seen the paper, owned by a very conservative family, ever tell the readers to abandon the Coalition.
Maybe it is just the fact that our local member has lost the plot, even telling a meeting that she would set aside the normal processes that apply for the pipeline to Melbourne, and stop it dead without consultation.
I think I may even frame this editorial as a little bit of history.
