Just announced that another Aus soldier has died in Afghanistan.
Will "security" raise it's electoral head?
Interesting 12 hours coming up.

I doubt it, the U.S.A blew the shite out of Afghanistan, so what's left to do?

Afghanistan is interesting in the fact that it is rarely mentioned in the same breath as Iraq, in terms of peoples opposition, yet we are losing more people there.

There is a bipartisan commitment to our troop deployment in Afganistan and for our reasons for being there. That's why it hasn't been an issue.

Ummm Hello,

They are at war!!! there is going to be casualties and there are going to be deaths...honestly because of the media each and every detail is now recorded.

Why weren't there military burials and all the hooplah that goes with it for the following

WWII

There were 39,366 Australian military deaths and 735 civilian deaths.

Do we see everyone of them taken off a plane and was the government blamed for each and every death, and before you carry on with yeah but this war is different because it is Bush's war etc crap blah blah blah WAR IS WAR, we signed an agreement, we honour our agreements and FFS he wasn't killed by Bush, he was killed by an ememy with a Gun who would likely shoot you as well, even if you were holding a plackard saying "we love you, we are sorry for fighting someone else's war!" or you were wearing a RUDD 07 T-shirt!

Gimme a break Rolling Eyes

Cheers

An Aussie gets shot and killed by a Taliban, and it makes headlines.

An Aussie shoots and kills a Taliban, and we hear nothing of it.

They knew the risks when they enlisted, so enough of the whiny, cry-baby shit when one actually does catch a bullet.

Settle down!! FFS!! It could have been friendly fire and now it's a cover up, wouldn't be the first time.......and it's not a war!

That is a very original thought. In the context of FFS, I don't understand "it's not a war. "
