Dave...Hastings is Hastings.
It's okay, but I wouldn't want to live there. |

Hmm the suburb debate. I love this stuff.
Noble Park, zzz, no time for it, I'm afraid. Anyone seen today's Sun, with an indepth look at the problems being experienced there? Pretty crazy, and with summer and hot nights coming up it's going to take some time to improve.
Western suburbs, yeah and no. I like Williamstown, but they say the whole areas relatively rough (don't know it too well) - can I ask for those of you who know, what's Sydenham, Delahey, Keilor Plains like? Never been out that way.
Bayside/down south, I don't mind Hastings, actually, not too bad. What goes on @ West Park, Dave? Frankston, well, you hear plenty about the notority of it, but I'd say that Dandenong is far, far worse, and even out to Hallum and that can be pretty dodgy. Heard plenty about the train stretch of Yarraman, Dandenong, Clayton, Hallam, etc.
Kananook, though - that place gets a bad rep everywhere you go.
Ringwood? Mmm yeah. Has its good and bad parts, North Ringwood is arguably better but the station is nothing short of disgusting - though Box Hill even trumps that. You do get your crazies out there, but there are plenty of good people/areas. Sounds about the same for all areas though. |

I don't think that's very polite. |

Parts of California Gully are okay Proto, but if you can get somewhere in Golden Square, Quarry Hill or Flora Hill, the areas are better and you are closer in to the main city area. Steer clear of Long Gully. Public transport is an absolute bitch in Bendigo. Spent five years delivering pizzas across Bendigo while I studied there so there's not many places there I don't know if you want any info. |

That said, there are some nice areas out west, but I would never live in areas such as Footscray, anywhere near Highpoint, Essendon etc. |
I grew up on the peninsula, in Tyabb, it's a great little town. I now live in Essendon and I love it. It's close to the city but its more like an outer suburb. Very nice houses (way out of my price range unfortunately) and generally trouble free. Essendon/Moonee Ponds is kind of a belt of nice suburbs in between West and Northern Melbourne
Only problem is the football club and its supporters. |

If we're gonna brag about areas, the area around greensborough; Bundoora; watsonia; macleaod; Rosanna is a very good area to live. Add in Viewbank ; Lower Plenty etc. Good areas, lots of family's.
&*( all to do if you're in your early 20's cos the pubs are well spaced apart and there's no such thing as nightclubs.
Big problem would be, property is getting dearer at an astronomical rate as more people discover the area. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Forget Lower Plenty Stui, houses in that area that were once 400, 500K, 5 - 6 years ago, are into the million dollar price range now. A lot of homes there are on acreage. What spastics we were not to buy there in 1999, I am so bleeding now!
Anyway, agree with G/boro, Bundoora, Macleod & Viewbank anything along the Hurstbridge line is nice. A lot of trees, a few parks if you have kids & a couple of golf courses too, pretty area.... _________________ WE WERE ROBBED, RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME, RIGHT IN FRONT OF MEEE!

Haha, that's fair enough. Each to their own. I 'spose I just don't like that side of the city at all. |
