Is this at the movies or on DVD? I've seen the first 3, love it. Also I like Hostel but yet to see Hostel-2. _________________ understanding stuff, with endeavour to overstand.. |

I've been avoiding these movies so far. I guess it's wrong to comment on something you haven't seen, but from what I've heard it just sounds like a lot of gratuitous and sadistic violence, which is one of the few things in films I can't cope with. _________________ "Every time we witness an injustice and do not act, we train our character to be passive in its presence." – Julian Assange |

With you on this one David. Started watching Saw and turned it off after 10 min or so. Plot ordinary and acting woeful. However the films appeal to a certain audience. And variety and personal tastes are a good thing, keeps life interesting. _________________ All this may be summed up in one word - CHARACTER - and if that is not worth developing, nothing is.

So what was it 'exactly' that attracted you to the movie in the first place bwphantom?
The acting isn't great, I'm past all the voilence but the movies are v e r y - c l e v e r. The box office returns and DVD sales would indicate a huge audience. _________________ understanding stuff, with endeavour to overstand.. |

I know it has a big following not disputing that. Just like most Movies I got it out when it came to DVD from a suggestion by a friend. My wife watched it through to the end. Before I left to read a book I said to my wife that the killer is the dead person in the room...Seems I was right as my wife then came in the room and said how did you know...wow what a twist...as I said ordinary plot. _________________ All this may be summed up in one word - CHARACTER - and if that is not worth developing, nothing is.

Ordinary plot? Well I guess the in-between bits made it exciting. Try 2 and then 3, although 3 for me is somewhat expected BUT then, with added twists.
.. tit for tat / each to their own / whatever floats ya boat / tickles ya fancy. I don't do romantic flicks you see, they're all the same.
Romantic Comedy anyone? Yeah right, will always have the sad emotional grab smack bang in the middle of the movie. _________________ understanding stuff, with endeavour to overstand.. |

EBB that is why I said variety is the spice of life. How boring would life be if we all enjoyed the same things. I don't begrudge anyone enjoying a movie. I just am adding my views on it. I have not seen 2 and 3 only on the basis of what I have seen in the first. You have piqued my interest so now I will go and have a look.
