Yep, Brumby is treating the nurses like second class citizens.
As a premier, he makes a good Collingwood supporter.
You reckon he would have learnt from David White's mistakes in 1986.

If the state Government do not enforce the Work(No)Choices legislation, the Feds can impose cuts in funding.

The state government have stuffed up the hospital system.
The article in the Herald Sun today was spot on.
Bracks got his windfall from GST and has squandered it. He was supoosed to cut stamp duty but has ot done so.
He could have thrown it at the hospital system but has not done so. The state hospital system is a disgrace.
It should be taken over by the Federal governement whatever its persuasion. |

Obviously you have never visited casualty at a public hospital. Also on the news last night. Frankston Hospital.
Labor is failing its own electorate.
I only go to private hospital casualty if needed. Costs $400 a pop but rather that than a 24 hour game of Labor sponsored russian roulette. |

As a proportion of GDP, the states actually get less than before the GST (See budget papers - History of State Grants)
The Hospital system was bought to its knees under Kennett, it has taken nearly 10 years to rebuild it.
Nurse patient ratio's were introduced under Bracks.
Over 4000 nurses have come back into the system because of Labor (Remember Kennett sacked 3000 of them and others just left).
Kennett sacked Cleaners and Food staff - See State Budget Papers 1994

Kennett hasnt been in for 8 years. Relevance factor in 2007 is zero.
What I am saying is whatever the Bracks and Brumby comedy team have done since 2007 has not worked as hospitals if anything are worse than they have ever been.
I refuse to attend public hospitals for that very reason.
Statistics mean jack when you are sitting on a trolley for three days waiting to be treated. |

Ummm So?
They may get less as a proportion of GDP but I guess that's just because GDP has grown so significantly under a coalition govenment.
In cash terms, they get significantly more than they used to, plus in Victoria, they're riding the coattails of the housing boom with Stamp duty.
At least Kennet had a go at getting the hospital system running more efficiently than the mess he inherited. Bracks on the other hand inherited a great platform to build real and efficient change and dithered for 7 years. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Spent several hours in casualty on 28th December 2005. On the way there in the ambulance the para told me that the day before they had broken their record for attendees in casualty. At 10:30am on the 28/12/05 they were ahead of the previous days admissions.
So, yes, I know about public casualty. They even let me go another 2 weeks with broken bones that they had missed on the original day.
Obviously you live in an area that the private hospitals are fully equipped. In my region, if you are in the private hospital and anything goes wrong, they call the ambo's to take you 500 metres up the road to the public hospital. They just cannot cope with real emergencies. |

Dont you ever get bored of trying to blame Kennett for everything? Why not just admit that Bracksy has done a shocking job and Brumby wont do any better |

Not blame, just stating the facts, because it seems the truth can mean what ever a poster wants it to mean around here.
