Middle of sept? So it was just a nightmare that we lost to the Cats by 5 points in a prelim and they won the flag? Good, who do we play this week?
But as for stores bringing out all the christmas stuff, it has been out for atleast a month already
I still enjoy christmas, good family time Christmas, spend christmas and boxing day with my dads side and go to the beach to see my AUnty for the rest of the week
Plus its one of 2 chances to get people to buy you expensive things you cant be bothered saving for and they wouldnt usually buy for you |

Christmas is the best time of the year, my family are always very much together and share the whole day. The last few years we have had my children, there inlaws, Mr J's family and extended aunts and uncles together for Christmas Lunch. The only thing to make it perfect would be to have Mum over as well. (but we usually see her in January close to her birthday)
We don't give out much presents, just to immediate family and the grand kids. To catch up with people you don't see very much, but are still in the family circle is a great time. Usually eat too much for lunch, then don't have christmas tea until boxing day! Everyone brings something for lunch, makes it easier for the person whose house Christmas is at. _________________ Kaylene.

all a bit of a yawn and inconvenience really when everyone tries to cram all their year's love into one day. a day for the kids, do like to see their excitement when they open their presents. _________________ Purveyor of sanctimonious twaddle. |

eeeyep, that's what it is to us too. Immediate family for lunch, whole family at Dinner. This year xmas lunch at our place as my sis is getting her house renovated. Then each year we go to a different family members house for dinner. This year it is to the mansion of one B Harvey!!!! Can't wait as not had it at their place before, but this is the new fandangled house...so looking foward to it.
We do a kris kringle for the family and I buy the kids stuff separate, though, all our kids are grown up now, except Shayne and Brents. My nephews want adult stuff and that costs a fortune, they are such bloody label jukies. Adult stuff, not as in porno, though...hmmmm they probably would want that. Ah, Christmas... tis the season to get a whole lot of presents you don't really want, and spend a lot of money buying presents for other people who don't really want them either
Lol, well that's my take on it anyhow. My family has never celebrated Christmas (it's a religious thing... don't ask ), so for me it's always just been another day. Even though I don't share my parents' religious beliefs, I can't see myself doing the Christmas thing in future years... just seems to be a blatant excuse for commercialism. _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |
