RUNNER-UP
The runner-up prize goes to the man who may be our next captain - Heath Shaw. Well done to Heater, who picked up 16 votes and 2 Best On Grounds.

And, THE WINNER OF THE 2007 GAVIN BROWN/NICK'S BB MEDAL goes to a player who managed 22 votes for the season, being voted best on ground on an incredible 6 occasions, and polling in an impressive 9 matches in total. That man is...

Tarkyn Lockyer!

Congratulations, Tarks Smile

Together with Goldsack, O'Brien and Fraser finished with 4 votes each; Clement, Johnson, Didak, Medhurst and Clarke 3 apiece; Wakelin, Rusling and Davis 2; and Shane O'Bree polled one vote for the year.

Once again, congratulations to Tarkyn Lockyer, winner of the 2007 Gavin Brown/Nick's BB Medal!

yeah, I also thought O'Bree was a bit unrecognized this year - he's a lot better than the vote tally suggests.

Oops, I left this out: best finals player goes to Travis Cloke with 4 votes, including best on ground in the Preliminary Final.

can i just ask, (as a newbie)

how long has this award been running for? who has won previous years

congrats to tarks though, definately in my opinion has been our best this year.

young tarkyn lockyer was always my favourite player, i always touted him as the next bucks (i know i know)

it was heartbreaking to see him miss all those games

glad to see him finally reaching his explosive potential. a workhorse, a tough player and a touch of class about him.

well done tockyer

Ran last year (Swanny won), and we did, apparantly the Supporter's Choice Awards in 2000, 2001 and 2002, I believe.

The ALICE chat robot can follow many things, like our discussion about a response. Try being more or less specific. We have never talked about it before.

well done Tarks, a well deserved win. you'd been all but written off at the end of last season and you came back and PROVED that you were one of our best. Love your work - may it continue unabated.

well done as well Dave for the onerous task of collating all the votes.

Cheers,

Ru

Well deserved Tarks.
Pitty he doesn't get some kind of prize from all of us here at Nicks.

Good job Dave.

Well Done Tarks! You earned it. And being the bet player in our best season for (IMHO) exactly 30 years is no small feat. Lets get him a car!

We can pick up a nice Datsun 120Y for about $85

Commiserations to Cheesy. 1 vote is utterly ridiculous, look at the stats! The tackles, The clearances, The improvement. Very harsh!

Also to Bucks who should've polled at least 20 just for being in the box, providing massive inspiration.

Well Done Dave,
another big effort coming of the bench (well, chair really, but still!)

Cheers guys, enjoyed doing it Smile

Shame we can't do anything for Tarks, but I guess it wouldn't be easy to find an appropriate award and get a chance to present it.... unless we went for one of those little kids trophies you got at auskick Laughing

Well done Tarks.

I'm baffled as to how Cheesy finished so low, thought he had a pretty consistent year. Could be that he was 4th or 5th best on many occasions, just missing out on the votes.

Which leads me to my next suggestion. How about voting for 5 players instead of 3 and rate their performance out of 10? That would give us a better indication of the best players imo and also eliminate any anomalies such as Cheesy finishing so low
