Post subject: CFC to Appeal | |
|
I have just read on the AFL website that Collingwood will
have their appeal heard tonight and it will cost $15000.
Apparently they are NOT allowed to submit new evidence at the
appeal due to a rule change at the end of last year.
All evidence has to be submitted at the first hearing.
How then, can they appeal?

Maybe they can try to get the appeal judge to actually listen to the evidence!!!! As the tribunal totally disregarded all the evidence except the umpire's!

Did I see right 15 Grand.Christ these bastards know how to charge, but I recon that its worth it.
It the dickheads look past their bloody noses and look at the evidence (or lack of) they will see that there is nothing to suspend him on,OR do they want the funds to prove HOW wrong they were in the first place.
Christ this judicary are rotten, money hungry thieves.

I'm so damn annoyed that I'd even be happy to pitch in towards the $15,000 (although I suppose $10 doesn't make much of a dent!!!). Here's hoping the Tribunal actually listen to the evidence and judge it accordingly AND stay consistent with previous striking charges and decisions that were worse than this and yet cleared. Not holding my breath tho!

Last year you had to have NEW evidence before you could even appeal, however, the rule has been changed this year so you don't have to have new evidence but if you want to submit new evidence you have to ask in writing to have it submitted.
I think Collingwood would be appealing on the fact the five players accounts of the incident were totally disregarded in the face of one umpires comments on what happened. Tarrant better get off and the AFL better fix what has happened. If five players believed Tarrant was setting a screen then that is what happened, whether the dumbass umpire likes it or not.
