Good on ya, Sly, for sticking with Doska when they wouldn't let him into the Cricketer's. You're a better man than I am, as I waved goodbye to two people to go to the Cricketers.
Walked into the beergarden, and saw the Gold Jacket standing in its spledour, on one of the tables.
Rule 1. Barrack for Collingwood
Rule 2. See rule 1.
Rule 3. There is no rule 3.

it was bloody difficult to award a 3,2,1, there were just so many contributors! sure bucks, lica, burns and taz were stand outs due to their consistency, but there were many others who did their little bits, albeit in spurts. boofa was on fire for much of the first quarter and rupe and mcgough worked very hard during this time as well. leon lit it up with some inspirational play in the third, and although quiet for most of the game, brodie had some touches in the fourth quarter "junk time".
a most underrated performance came from the under appreciated and oft criticised steven mckee. his presence freed up ant and josh, and for a while there he was dominant across half back, repelling many attacks, and he also impressed with his mobility and disposal, which were mostly spot on. he will always have his detractors, but how can you knock a bloke who just had the game that he did and certainly showed his worth to the side?
"..we flew at them as a hawk to his prey, passed through them in the disordered state in which they were, separated them into two distinct parts and then tacked upon their largest division.." -- Captain Cuthbert Collingwood, 1797 |
