nothing fancy like afl.com.au

Mainly want some forums but needs to be a webpage with links to a few other things.

If anyone could make me one (lol) or show me how to this would be great.

Reply here or PM me and we can talk more. I'll also give you a link to a website in which i want to make one similar to it

Thank you for your time.

I think www.geocities.com still give you free hosting/building with basic tools such as editing text, background, colour schemes, layouts, etc.Have a look and see perhaps.

Checkout content systems such as Joomla. They are easy to use once installed.

Alternatively, if you are willing to pay for hosting, they usually have software such as fantistico and cpanel installed - fantistico installs a whole range of programs for you. ie. forums, galleries, content systems. With Joomla you can download templates and use those for your website. Easy to setup.

I host a small business website on www.jumba.com.au for reasonable prices. There are alternatives, but they have reasonable prices. Sometimes it is worth forking out some money for a domain, and hosting - it saves alot of the hassles of setting up websites.

Another hint when doing this too choppa is if you get a webpage you like.

Right click on it and View Source - that brings up that whole page in HTML format.

It can sometimes be a cheats way to do things if you like the layout of something. You can also get an idea of what HTML things go where and what for.

But those other sources they have given you above are very helpful

first things first choppa, have you mapped out exactly what you want and why you are doing it? i have seen too many websites that are just crap because no one has spent the time thinking about what it is they are trying to achieve.

happy to offer assistance once i get to melbourne.

My first ever attempt at designing a website.

www.4reeldigitalart.com

Problem with websites is that different browsers = different results.

The day that web browsers, and the companies that make them, are all compatible with design protocols, is the day that I shave my pubes and sing out hallelujah.

..but there is a future.....
