What is more offensive, the Iraq war where thousands of innocent people have been killed, our own soldiers have been ridiculed in a disgusting manner by our own society because they were sent to war, OR freedom of speech to make a tv show where you have sex with a nun in a church?

The slaughter of so many civilians by toxic spraying over the jungle, bombs blowing up innocent children in Iraq, African American's still being the victims of racism from their very own president, our Prime Minister constantly lying to the public, corruption in our own government and police force, rapists, murdering people - THAT IS OFFENSIVE!

Nice one. Are you feeling ok?

So let me get this straight, if thats even possible. Something cannot be offensive if there are other things that are more offensive? And you shouldn't object to something if there are more important things to object to? Confused

No, I am saying, get your priorities straight, and point your concern at other things, instead of forcing your beliefs upon eithers. What I am saying is, we have a right to free speech, and a right to watch what is on tv. Out of ONE official complaint made, it's obvious that the majority of people aren't that offended.

Excuse me? Confused

Your interpretation of a dirty mind is obviously quite different to what we're referring to.

If you think what you READ in a newspaper article is offensive, then it doesn't appear that people such as yourself have the ability to make up their own decisions based on facts, not a biased article, and are automatically referring to something as dirty. Doesn't that give you a dirty mind then?

Because I like sex, that makes me out to have a dirty mind? Right. Ok. Laughing Since when was sex dirty? Since when was it also dirty to have sex in order to conceive children? Sex is sex.

How is that ridiculous?

My nana does volunteer work in a church, and has mentioned she would out of fingers to count how many people she knows when she was a child, that were molested by priests and bishops, and when the parents found out, they acted as though it was ok. It's actually been the case in the past few years in testimonials made in court case. Just another reason why a lot of people are becoming atheist's or are turning to different religions.

I think that is a bit more disgusting than Californication, don't you think? Wink

1. Since you feel so strongly about this topic, isn't it you that has your priorities all wrong? All these people dying everywhere and all you're concerned about is getting your porn on TV.

2. You seem to be the one tryiing to force your beliefs onto others seeing that you want to force people into accepting your values and watch porn which is something most people find filthy.

3. We have no right of free speech, there is nothing in the constitution that grants anyone such a right. In general you are permitted to speak so long as you don't offend others, and you can watch TV shows that the general public don't find offensive.

Though the differences are there is "love making" sex and then there is just plain sex that has no feelings attached, so sex can be mean 2 different things to the person doing it.

Which I wouldn't know about, as I am a good Catholic boy, that would never, ever get involved in that until marriage...

There's a halo there somewhere damn it! Evil or Very Mad

Much prefer kids to see sex, or simulated sex, than play some of the video games available today. They cause much more damage than any sex act could.
And maybe if we are talking about TV shows that warp minds or give an unrealistic view of real life, how about wrestling? In real life the moves portrayed in this "competition" would maim or kill. Yet we encourage kids to believe it!
I'm old enough to remember when VHS and Betamax ruled the video shop. I also remember that at one time Victoria had laws that allowed the renting of XXX videos. It was a short lived law, but the "behind the curtain" area of the shop did big business. And surprise, surprise, we all did not end up as rapists!

Post of the f@#king year!

Except you didn't need to look at african americans for racism... it happens right here to any number of different minority groups.

Still, great post!

Firstly, where did I ever say I wanted to get porn on tv? You obviously haven't been reading my posts.

I never said that whatsoever. What I did say was that we are entitled to free speech and the right to watch it.

The constitution? Hello, we are in Australia, not America thanks. As far as I am concerned, this doesn't fall under it. We are entitled to protest. Paul Hanson is classed as a racist, offends a lot of people, but she was still allowed in parliament and was never charged.

The Prototype - I agree. I should of worded that a bit better Laughing
