Think I'm gonna give the Rissole a miss but decide later on.

European Laundry is when you put it in a cupboard. Basically in a hallway they have a sliding door like a built in robe, except when you open it there's the sink and spot for the washing machine. That's it.

Mantra Hotels tend to have them in their apartment rooms. Open up a bifold door to find a washing machine, sink and clothes dryer all hidden in a wardrobe.

Actually makes perfect sense in a way, the bedrooms and bathroom are upstairs, all the dirty clothes are upstairs.

I make no comment on your cooking, I do the washing whenever. You don't have to be there to watch the machine, just stick in a load, bugger off and do something else, come back when it's finished and hang it out. Easy as.

Anyway, just had a hot radox bath for the first time in years.

Laid back in the water, watching the Dreamtime at the G game on the tablet, glass of red and can of beer in easy reach.

Might have to do that more often.

Your machine never flooded the house? I'm the ultimate triple checker!

Flooded the house? Shocked Confused Nope.

I'll put a load on then go shopping, come home and it's finished so I hang it out.

Yeah, it's the main reason we don't chloro crusing as much anymore. A bath every few years just isn't good enough.

Yeah nah! When I first moved out of home my cheap 2nd hand machine drowned my 1 bedroom flat, then a share house I moved into. And my awesome Maytag machines sensor died and flooded the house that just got trashed, I'm talking an inch of water through half the house!

Friends of ours dishwasher sprung a leak when they were overseas, they had to replace all the architraves in the house!

I turn the taps of the washing machine off when I'm not using it and I never go out and leave anything running!

True that, and using the chloro as deodorant because of your allergy to showers didn't help things.

My machine can't flood the house. Not anymore. Smile

A while ago I did some major renovations to the back porch area, including removing the washing machine and wash tub and so on temporarily while I constructed new steps and landing, replaced the wall boards, repaired the short exterior wall, replaced the hot water service, main gas pipe and and most of the water pipes (plumber did that bit), knocked out the old wooden floor, lowered it a couple of feet, and replaced it all with nice brick paving. Lick of paint here and there and we were right to put the washing machine back ..... but I really, really liked the extra interior space without it, and who needs a wash trough when there is a bath in the next room which is easier anyway if you want to hand wash a blanket or something?

So now the washing machine lives outside under a tarp, connected up to a garden tap (I never waste perfectly good hot water to just wash clothes: hot water is for dishes and humans; clothes get cold and like it). I made a little wooden stand for it to keep it level. One of these days, I'll make up a sort of weatherproof box for it to live in. And if it ever overflows, the tomatoes will get an extra drink, which they won't mind.
