Maybe you can be in charge of organising school trips.

They didn't do trips like this when I went to school.

Heartwarming story. How to spend 2 million & save 1300 monkeys:

Wonderful outcome.

"....After a bitter struggle that lasted more than 20 years to close down the Mazor Farm, which breeds and exports monkeys for medical experiments, many of the animal rights activists involved in freeing the monkeys must have pinched themselves when they woke up on Monday morning to make sure they were not dreaming. The fight against the breeding farm – which included stormy protests, threats and mutual mudslinging – had ended and the activists won...".

^ thanks for posting that WPT - wonderful news! Cool

One of the reasons I don't attend medical conferences is I refuse to sit through presentations that discuss results based on the appalling treatment of animals in the name of " science" - most of them are as useless as the " scientific whaling" that the Nippons conduct! oh and I have been known not to leave such presentations quietly so best I don't go at all!

The FDA are as corrupt and self serving as the NRA Rolling Eyes

I remember the incident with Sea Shepherd - real shame as they seemed to hold the same ideology but the methods were obviously at odds!

Sigh, time to get up.

(Wrong thread? Not really, some poor buggers got up hours ago and went to work! Be thankful, even for the little things)

Cheers

Bought some speakers about 2-3 years ago if not more, in Northern NSW.

Finally set up two Bose speakers on stands (that took ages & required a visit to the Bose store to set up). For the TV with a subwoofer (Acoustimass 3 series).

Had good bookshelf speakers previously on stands (Usher 520) but they took up too much room & were bi-wired so the wires were quite obtrusive let alone the speakers & stands.

Having less clutter, things out of boxes, Mrs WPT & Ms WPT off my back is liberating & wonderful.

Finished putting up a new piece of side fence/gate and cleaning up around the area outside.

Retired for the day now, getting too frigging hot. Shocked

Got the filter running on the pool and just made myself a berry smoothy for brunch using frozen berries. Mmmmmm cold.

Great stuff.

Mrs WPT & I got some netting over the vege patch (yesterday & over some time).

Used 9 x 2.4 metre metal stakes & hammered into the ground on the outside edges of the patch & 1 in the middle

Got poly pipe & attached them by plastic ties to the top of the spikes after having threaded bamboo in them for stability.

Sewed some netting together & have placed the netting on top. Mrs WPT needs to attach about two more pieces of netting.

Now the possums won't be sharing & those friggin' cabbage moths can f*ck off & leave our kale (looks like swiss cheese now) alone. Got tomatoes, cucumbers, lady finger egg plants, basil, well bits of Kale & capsicum.

Now need to dig up more to extend the patch. Not today though.
