This is stuff I used to do years ago when we were short staffed as well - however in the last few years the number of ED presentations has grown exponentially. The problem was that I got used to the overtime pay. Now I rarely do overtime. - It'll go back to make up the moulah spent on my daughters car. A few months of hard work & I'll be back to square one - just in time to assist number 2 (she's decided to start driving lessons with Mrs WPT now). No new car for first car first for her.

I hear you, my son is a sinkhole to my bank balance.

My daughter, in my sons words, is the family <snip>. She's more than self sufficient, she will not accept any money except as a loan which she has paid back every time.

Whenever my son gets shitty and blames his mum for his situation (which is actually quite justified) I just say to him, "your sister has the same mother" which is a conversation stopper.

You shouldn't be quoting your son or whoever with racist sayings. That's pretty f*cken awful to say the least Stui. Why post that?

How is it racist to say that <snip> are known to be good with money? You've said the same yourself. Confused

My daughter works hard, saves her money, doesn't tolerate fools....please explain how that comparison is a racist insult?

Look WPT, if you found that offensive, I apologise.

My daughter considers it a compliment.

Definitions of racism

1. The belief that human races have distinctive characteristics which determine their respective cultures, usually involving the idea that one's own race is superior and has the right to rule or dominate others.
2. Offensive or aggressive behaviour to members of another race stemming from such a belief.
3. A policy or system of government based on it.

Cheers. All good. You weren't intending it to be so.

Cheers WPW,

Point taken but without wanting to labour a point, I'm well aware of the definition of racism, whether being a Jew is a race or a religion is one of those futile debates and I I was actually ascribing a positive characteristic in this comparison rather than claiming them to be inferior.

I also understand that intent is largely irrelevant to whether someone finds something offensive and I'm grateful that WPT is happy that no offence was intended.

As I said, point taken, /discussion

5 yo first day of Primary School today!
He was so excited, and he had a great day! Smile
We were a little concerned, he's had some difficulties to this point and can go either way with major changes. So far so good.

Great stuff. I still remember my oldest's first day of school. I took her & had it on video!

My wife was unable to go, drove the Kombi van to the parent run "Malvern Community School" - a parent run school that had a food co-op. Those were the days. 25 kids in the whole primary school!!

Enjoy, great time.

Bloody hippie. Razz

I had the chauffeur drive young Alastaire directly to the exclusive preparatory school, dispersing the rabble around the entrance with the claxon air horns so he could park on the grounds and escort him directly to class and ensure he was properly introduced to his teacher while a film crew recorded the event for me to watch later over a snifter of Cognac.

yeah right. Rolling Eyes Razz

I walked with young Seamus, with younger sister in the pram, down to the local government primary school and asked him to try to not get expelled on the first day. Wink Got a couple of photos on the Hanimex instamatic. Razz
