parts of it are provocative and confronting in terms of conveying the undercurrents of racism that still exist.

OMG, I'm so proud of myself! I did it, I stood up and rode the board all the way to the shore three times! Had a couple of shorter runs, and some epic crash and burns! Sore from head to foot! Only 1 broken nail though! Cheers,

So knackered!

It was awesome! Even just cruising to the beach balanced instead of hanging on for grim death was good! They teach you to do a kind of "greet the sun" yoga sequence to get up, and it just really helps your balance. I do some Pilates moves, including this one, to keep my back and hamstrings flexible. And it showed! When you start they get you to do some stretching excercises, out of the two groups (6in one, 4 in ours) some couldn't even reach their toes sitting down, and I was gripping my feet with the full hands! Pretty cool since I was giving away a good 25 years on all but 1 bloke!

There was 2 young girls and 1 young guy in my group, one girl was really good, I was next, and the other 2 could only get on their feet for a few seconds, the girl quit the guy got frustrated! I could see he just didn't have the core muscles to hold his balance getting up. Once your up, it's easy to stay there, it's the transition that's hard!

I body surfed as a kid, but after catching a vicious dumper in Hawaii 22 years ago, that hurt my neck so bad I really thought I was a goner, I stopped. I have a really good mantra boogie board I picked up on eBay, and it's awesome and really easy to use. Got the kids some from rebel in the end of summer sale a couple of years back, it's worth getting a good one, and making sure it's the right size for you. Ocean grove is brilliant for boogie boarding, the waves are nice and neat! I highly recommend it!

It was an amazing feeling when I stood up! We bought the kids a school board a couple of years ago, but never had lessons, eldest had a surfing day at school, and she stood up a couple of times, but she doesn't go to the coast much. I'll be dragging it out this summer for sure! I bet I looked a right nutter, I went crazy the first time I made it to shore! I was like "oh wow oh wow OH WOW! And then how the **** do you get off!"

A spate of British seagull attacks—creatures of evil on the march! Laughing These are big varmints with a creepy Hitchcockian cry of death and a swoop like a nesting magpie. From the sound of them circling overhead these days, they enjoy the summer every bit as much as the local humans!

Daily Nonsense wrote:
Crafty seagulls have developed a cunning strategy to steal the lunches of unsuspecting visitors to Brighton beach.

The birds are reportedly 'ganging up' to target women carrying food along the seaside - with one tapping girls to make her drop her food, while the rest hover close by to swoop in for the feast.

Lifeguards on the beach have described scenes worthy of Alfred Hitchcock's horror film The Birds as the gulls become smarter and more brazen than ever before.

And LOL at this story, among others:

All those racist Poms booing Mitch Johnson is disgraceful.

Hopefully the ECB will follow the lead of the AFL and ask them all to stop and the English media will lash them mightily.
