Why is the voluntary work not making Centrelink jump through hoops for you? I don't get that, when so many (well according to today tonight) sit on their arse and don't even try. |
I sometimes think Centrelink is made to be as unwieldy and non-user-friendly as possible. Perhaps the principle is, the more loathsome and time-wasting the experience of dealing with Centrelink, the more people will want to actively look for a job. _________________ "Every time we witness an injustice and do not act, we train our character to be passive in its presence." – Julian Assange |

Thanks, I have been for the most part.
According to them the radio is a registered business, which I spoke to Anthony and he said he thought about it but never did so the radio doesn't make any profit at all. I told them I was doing photography as a volunteer with the TSL and SFL, since both make a profit that didn't count towards anything despite being listed as a traineeship.
I have no issue with volunteer work, or even work for the dole as long as it's helping me gain the skills needed to get into my desired job. Last time I did work for the dole I ended up in a computer thing where there were many people and I simply sat there doing nothing.
I went and got something with St. Vincent de Paul, to gain sales experience as I was told I'd have gotten the job with the CBA had I had them, but I was getting told since they signed me up for Work for the Dole back then and had no sales type things I had to finish their program.
People in my area for the most part are more likely to be 'dole bludgers' parts of here are high crime areas, and high drug areas whereas I'd rather work I've been working to work for a very long time.
I have a friend hopefully going to ask someone she knows from the media how I'd go about getting a job in the media there. I've tried applying with all the experience I have had. Hopefully something pops there. _________________ avg

Shopping with my eldest for the first time in I don't know how long! A couple of years maybe! Making up for lost time, gunna need a bigger car! Worth it though! Killing time while her car has a recall job done on it!
I really miss her, so good to have her here today!

Well done!
Landed in Sydney to 17 degrees, got to about 19 on Bondi beach! Grilled salmon and a glass of red for lunch at the Bondi RSL, about to hit the hotel gym while hubby has a nap. (Too many 12 hour days) Sunday is a car show from 9am in the morning, til the top gear show at 4pm, so tomorrow hubby insisted I book a 2 hour surfing lesson at midday on Bondi beach! OMG I'm so excited! Always wanted to learn! Not convinced I'll stand up but hey, that's another tick off the old bucket list! (He will be watching the adrenalin junkie from the pub!)
Cheers, time to work off dinner before I eat it! _________________ You cant fix stupid, turns out you cant quarantine it either! |

I'll just make sure there is a couple of people further out than me, and preferably in larger sized wetsuits! _________________ You cant fix stupid, turns out you cant quarantine it either! |

Finally said goodbye to Mr. Gates yesterday. Yep, I have entered the world of linux and I'm loving it
If for nothing else, it's given my old laptop a new lease of life. Running like a champ again
