Amen to that. I've lived here for about 25 years, and every year there comes, in March, a day that would probably pass as an average winter's day in Melbourne, but here is like a liberation - it's 14 degrees, and the daffodils in the churchyard opposite are gliding among the stones, luminous with the arrival of spring. Few simple things make me as happy as that.

Great turn of phrase there, and I'm going to make it back there one day soon

Cheers

This is what I can beautiful weather. Warm enough to get a sweat up working in the garden, comfortable to get around in a singlet and bare feet, not hot enough to warrant remedial action.

I'm gonna rename the dog "Carpet" cos everytime I move in the yard, he's underfoot.

Daughter works as a disability support worker, itinerant role going to people's homes and having to deal with all sorts of stuff.

Recently she applied for a coordinators job with the same company, office gig, full time. Told me tonight that (touch wood, no jinx) she's got the job. Starts in a couple of weeks, salary in the neighborhood of $50k. Not bad coin for a 23 year old who did VCAL and a traineeship, basically double what she's been earning.

Good career progression for mine, she's done the road work for a few years, understands how it works in the field and has genuine empathy for the clients. She won't need to wreck her back and shoulders doing housework for TAC con artists any more.

^ that's good news - always nice to have people who have genuine hand ons experience coordinating - doesn't make the hard decisions easier but can make them fairer and better for client ( I hate that word) outcomes and can improve staff satisfaction as well!

Submitted my assignments for the first part of the drawing phase of my course work. The teacher liked the idea with Easter coming up.

It's helped mend a couple of crappy weeks.

Oh yeah sorry about that, it was based on Easter, it was drawings that spelt out a word. She asked for Eggs to be added to it, and making it 3D and adding shades.

Things have also improved with my girlfriend as well, her mum doesn't really like me it seems. Her mother and brother are worried about me being so quiet, also her mums uncomfortable with me staying there.

Megan thought about us breaking up on Saturday, because we hadn't really talked as much but she re-thought that and we've been working on the talking stuff. She just had a bad week I guess and that helped get her a bit worried about things.
