I was told tonight that my names been put down for a major sporting company here in Tassie, a friend Norma who is a former Paralympian is working to get me this job. Details haven't been confirmed, but I got told tonight about this opportunity.

Fingers crossed, but the news of the possibility helped cheer me up, after a few bad confusing days.

Walked in the door Knackered, dreading cooking dinner: what's that smell??

That would be my eldest daughter cooking dinner, her own concoction, curried chicken and veg with brown rice, bloody delish, and she's learning not to make so much mess! What will this cost me, I really don't care! I ate, I've ranted, and now I'm hitting the gym! Cheers!

Chaos on the roads yesterday. Not really reported cos it was this side of town! Well I don't thin so anyway, didn't see the news, got home too late!

Yesterday hubby was transporting a load out the warehouse, drove down the freeway around 10.30 - 11. Next to Manheim auctions a lady in a 4 wheel drive lost control, and her caravan flipped, was across 3 lanes of traffic. Gets a bit further up the road to point cook and that nasty truck accident had just happened, so he only got stuck for a few minutes. He got back around 12 and told us about the accident. I knew my eldest would have been on the way too work at the time of the crash. So I rang her work, she'd rung in too say she was stuck in traffic. Phew. She was an hour late, after detouring through point cook. Junior left the warehouse at 2.30, went to the Showgrounds to get our colour run packs, headed home about 3.00. At 5.15 I rang her to find out her game time, she'd pulled over in Altona, kind of, the traffic was stopped. Everything diverted. The coach rang me at 6.20, stuck in gridlock were junior was an hour before! She said I don't think I'll make the 6.40 game. I was still at work so couldn't help. The games were all delayed 30 min all night. The coach arrived at 6.50 after leaving altona North at 5.15. Hubby took off in the truck around 6 and was back in 20min. He got as far as boundary rd, which the street we are working on runs off, took him 10 min to go around the round about and come back! I started at 7.30 yesterday, was ready to leave at 6.20 to go straight to netball. No point joining the queue, so I kept working and left at 7.15 pm! Ordered Chinese before I left, from Altona. Got home in 20 min flat, the Chinese arrived at 8.45! Altona was still gridlocked at 8 apparently. Friends recieved calls form schools, the busses were delayed a minimum of 1.5 hours. Hope they had air con!

So that's the story of one family effected by a car crash that happened at about 11 am. Why is this in the happy thread? For one thing we all got home safe. But more importantly, that poor man, trapped for three hours, between 2 trucks, literally with the 2nd trucks wheels over his head. He made it out alive. Hopefully he's still alive, and makes a full recovery.

Slow down, look more than once, and pay attention. Why are we all in such a hurry these days?

These days? i'm getting older, I'm not interested in wasting the time I have left sitting behind some *&%%^&(*^$ who thinks it's acceptable to do 80 in a 100 zone. I want to get to where I'm going, do what I want to do and then get home. The less time I spend in transit the more I get to spend doing something I enjoy.

I almost cleaned up someone today at work because i do the same thing when i'm walking. I came out of my office door and turned left and almost cleaned up someone coming out of the door to my left, but she was turning right.

I'm gonna call Engineering on Monday to install one of them mirrors.

visiting hobart for the first time in 35 or so years. gotta love cheap return flights.

was just a little tacker when i was last here. managed to tick a few items off the list today - cascade brewery, consitution dock, wrest point casino and the town centre. managed to find a burger joint by accident. it is located down a driveway in the city centre. hugely popular. would have served 25 customers in the time i ordered and ate my burger.

one highlight was driving to the top of mt wellington. superb views but fmd it was cold.

surprisingly, i bumped into neil balme in my travels and had a good chat.

tomorrow, am heading to salamanca place markets and port arthur. will try to fit in mona if time permits before leaving on sunday.

^ Definitely recommend MONA, JW. Much more interesting than your typical stuffy art gallery. Was one of the highlights of my trip to Hobart.

Nice trip to Cardiff. A very attractive and friendly city on first impression, and a nice Christmas atmosphere in town already; haven't had a mulled wine for years!

The Beloved's iPhone 6 panoramic capabilities came in handy:

I am quite happy to have completed a song for Laura, hopefully it will brighten her day.. I thought it was an okay effort on painkillers and barely any sleep. Smile
