Great stuff Stui. Pardon me for spelling out the obvious, have you had the house checked for things like termites, structure etc? |
The agent is organising a pest inspection. Structure is sound although part could use restumping but I'm not interested in wasting money on that.
Got the pre-approval from the bank, should take the keys early October then the fun starts.
Got a washing machine and 2 beds in the shed, can repossess a fridge and TV from the kids, check out the local op shop for crockery, cutlery and pots n pans (just enough to get by for a holiday place) got a spare BBQ, have a look on gumtree for a couch and do the work on the house.
Got the bathroom planned in my head, and some decking front and back, buy a spray gun to seal and paint the outside. Gonna have fun.
Not going to spend a lot on doing it up, just want to make it comfortable for a few years. If the house falls down after 10 years, the land will be worth more than I paid for it. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Red headed chick achieved another milestone in netball umpiring.
Has moved up from Dark blue (P Plates) to Squad.
Squad umpires are the ones the association trains with the aim to become C badged umpires.
Is also few extra $ per game. Umpiring is her part time job. _________________ If you are foolish enough to be contented, don't show it, but just grumble with the rest. - Jerome K Jerome |

Since their commission is dependant on the sale I'll be the agent arranged inspection passes with flying colours! |

Feeling energetic.
Been crook for over a week, feeling half dead, it's just so good to be alive today! I got so much done! Shipload of paperwork, the overdue BAS, vacuumed upstairs, washed the floors, washing, shopping, Pilates, cooked dinner, and I'm still buzzing! Maybe it was the Diatomaceous earth smoothie I had for lunch! Even my teeth feel brand new! Cheers, may the odds be ever in your favour!
Unless I don't particularly like you! Nah **** it you too! Today anyway. Maybe. _________________ You cant fix stupid, turns out you cant quarantine it either! |

Had to take mum to hospital yesterday with what I suspected was a bowel obstruction and yep it was. Thankfully it is resolving ( no cancer phew!!) and surgery it appears won't be needed - such a relief an 80 year old with leukaemia is not a good surgical candidate!! Hopefully I will be able to bring her home in a day or two!!
The care she has received from the moment we walked into ED from the surgical unit medicos has been outstanding and the nurses in ED big tick - yes it is the health service I work at - but I spent 12 hours in one of our EDs yesterday and the care all the patients in the area got was brilliant (and they were frantic - cubicles were filled they were hanging off the rafters in the waiting room and there were at least 8 ambulances lined up ). As an old NUM I am not easily impressed but damn I was impressed!!!
It's not perfect but our public health system is pretty damn good!!!
Oh and Jo thanks the text books got to me ( I'm sending them to Zimbabwe so thank you) 👍 _________________ “The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.” |

Gees glad your mums ok, She's already been through so much, may She have the luck of the Irish in recovery.
If it was Footscray I'd vouch for their emergency, unfortunately spent time there myself with various people, including me, and they really are excellent. _________________ You cant fix stupid, turns out you cant quarantine it either! |

Yes Footscray!
I know she's getting better cause she told me to tell a friend of mine that Collingwood losing to Port made her sick - I told her bollocks if they had given her the shits she wouldn't have got an obstruction and she laughed a lot - such a lovely sound to hear after a few days of dread!! _________________ “The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.” |

just a week. i booked it boxing day, $450 return with luggage on jetstar, taking the kids and the eldests boyfriend, and now we bought my sister in law a ticket too, so there will be six of us! ive booked a 3 bed unit 2 blocks from the beach,
yes its my 4th time there. went 24.5 years ago on our honeymoon, waikiki and Maui, then did the same in 2014, last year we went to waikiki for a week for one of my best friends wedding. i love it, laid back, warm, and those fabulous USA accents!! i could spend winter there i reckon!!
a couple of juniors friends are dog/house sitting, so if there is a wild party advertised over this way, please let me know!! _________________ You cant fix stupid, turns out you cant quarantine it either! |
