No worries HAL! It's free. Just give me your credit card number.

Wonder if HAL should go on Australian Idol? He can 'sing' his interpretation of Thus Spake Zarathustra...

Australian Idol is ok now I guess. It used to just be a karaoke contest. Still, there are people who get in the top 12 who couldn't write a song to save their life. Thank god Damien Leith won last year.

As a musician, I find the whole concept B/S and a waste of resources in the Australian Music Industry where there are better, talented musicians and singers out there working their arses off in pubs, who can take constructive critisism and work harder. I only enjoy watching the experienced people, not those who have never had a singing lesson and take advice from their friends who think they are a good singer Rolling Eyes The concept is a joke, and I wish Kyle Sandilands would f*** off. The best thing Molly Meldrum ever did was tell Kyle he was a tosser and a disgrace to the music industry.

Trouble with this show (well one of many) is that it plays along with the whole pop celebrity thing. If you look pretty, you can "act". If you have a good singing voice, all of a sudden you're a musician.

I don't have anything against people who can sing, indeed singing can be very beautiful when done by someone who's good at it. But, when it comes down to music, give me the wails of Robert Smith any day, as at least he's accompanied by great music and lyrics that weren't written in 2 seconds on a lolly wrapper.

I'm sure Hal could do a stirring rendition of "Good Old Collingwood Forever"
Mike would have programmed him to.

Idol should be called idle.
