Micro$oft: Failure is not an option; it comes bundled with the software.

VISTA: Viruses, Intruders, Spyware, Trojans, Adware.

I'm not a tech head but there's two things you can try.

Re boot and hold down the F8 button while it's loading. That should take you to safe mode and you can run the virus scans etc.

Try and restore the settings to a couple of days ago.

On the other hand, if the hard drive has shat itself there's not much you can do.

What did you reformat? The whole Hard Drive? Surely not.
Did you have to reinstall Windos/Linux or whatever you are using?
Is it only the sound card not working?
If it is, do you have the original disk that came with your computer?
If you do, load it and look for the sound card driver.
Otherwise, go to realtek site and find it.
Try here;http://soundcard.free-driver-download.com/RealTek/11921/Realtek-ALC658-ALC850-AC'97-Audio-Driver(HP-models).html

***note, this driver is for HP model computers only***

Under $150 for an internal drive
Over $150 for an external.
Just bought myself a nice 320GB external seagate for $169. Very nice.

I think it's your video card that is most important for gaming.

dewd what OS are you using?.
when exactly in the boot up sequence does it happen?.
when you say you formatted the hard drive, what did you format it with?

if your computer is consistently failing on you doesn't necessarily mean the hard drive is no good, it could be a host of different components that is causing the error.
Have you ever opened up the box and cleaned it out and re-seated the video/sound card and ram, as well as internal cable connectors?

well i re formatted it windows disc.....ive opened it up and cleaned it buthavent touched anything mayb somethign is lose or something really little isnt working.

but wen i load it up about 10 seconds in to it it said unabel to load OS ( onc ei reformatted it it didnt show up again)

now wen i load the comp the screen doesnt work. when the screen is on the light turns green on the screen.(but now its jus staying orange like its not working)

so maybe its one of the connections.
and sometimes it jus always resets or freezes.
ive cleaned it from dust so really not sure what the problem is

mite take it to my gfs mums friend who fixed their computer.

Hmmm

I'm still intrigued by your "I've formatted it" statement.
If you do a format, don't you delete everything on the Hard Drive?
If you truly have reformatted the hard drive I assume you would have to reload your operating system from scratch.

k m8, too hard to help you from here, but you do sound like a prime candidate to be ripped off, I suggest who ever it is you get to sort it out, you make sure you can trust them.
